If you are addicted to point and click adventures the action scenes and dreaded one hit kill may shock you a little, please enlist the help of a joystick pro (but no, you cannot kill the giant raven, instead you should find the axe and listen carefully to its diminutive sibling).More than 15,000 players noticed this game was made with love and decaliters of coffee. They compared it to Tate Modern and the LSD and are a little sad because the new chapters aren't out yet._______________________________ Need help? Check the walkthrough:http://www.anime3dsfx.com_______________________________ Another 15,000 players felt really grumpy after trying it. They skipped all the dialogues, were unable to solve the puzzles and lost patience with the controls after 10 minutes. Or complained that the night is dark. They also noticed the lack of save points - however you can restart at the beginning of the latest stage you have completed, so you'll be OK if you can spare about 10 minutes per session._______________________________ "We’ve been shown a glimpse of something wonderful..." - iFanzine fav. iOS games 2010 http://ifanzine.com/our-favorite-ios-games-of-2010-part-2 _______________________________ One review stated that only the music is good. It's basically an adventure game, but it takes place in this mysterious world that's part fantasy, part unconscious -- a bit like Wonderland. Reminds me a bit of The Path (a PC adventure/art game), but not as open ended. The only objective I've been able to make out so far is getting to the next chapter, which so far has involved some fairly easy (though in one case somewhat disturbing) puzzles. The music is great, but the graphics are pretty primitive -- though sometimes quite beautiful nonetheless. It's not clear from the screenshots or video, but you can actually play it in landscape (which I much prefer). I don't know who will find this appealing -- adventure fans will find it too simple, and it's certainly not action game or RPG. So far, though, it has been a unique experience. I guess I'll have to keep playing till I form a more definitive opinion. @arta: are you really giving a game you haven't played a rating? Manathilian Well-Known Member Mar 31, 2009 64 0 0 #9 Manathilian, Aug 2, 2010 Well, I'm only on chapter 3 right now, but I'm having a good time with this game. The story begins with a dream sequence in which you wander through a small labyrinth and meet a mysterious girl. You awaken to find yourself suffering amnesia in a dark forest of a strange floating world.... So far, I feel a little like Alice in a wonderland filled with strange people and talking beasts. The gameplay primarily consists of exploration as you traverse a very simple and stylish world, picking up the necessary tools you need and talking to the inhabitants to solve the next puzzle and progress further. Although I have encountered a few enemies so far, combat hasn't been necessary in order to dispose of them (yet). Some of the pros include: a very fitting and atmospheric soundtrack, day/night cycles in the open-yet-linear world, properly written dialogue (thank god!), no loading times, small monologues from the protagonist as she comments on her situation and surroundings (gives her more character), unique and artistically styled environments, and the ability to play in either portrait or landscape. A few things which could be improved include: the short draw distance, one hit deaths (the enemy killing you, that is), some choppy animation when navigating over uneven terrain, and non-cohesive loops in the soundtrack for some areas. I like this game so far, but (since I'm easily entertained) I don't know whether its worth everybody's $4 yet. Squeaker Well-Known Member May 31, 2009 3,366 7 38 Bookland #10 Squeaker, Aug 2, 2010 I just played a little so this is very initial impression. Basics first, you control a girl (wearing white pj?) using a compass like wheel in the lower right hand corner. On the lower left you start with a hand icon which you use to pick things up, later a sword icon to attack and also a note icon to switch music. Camera view can be changed by tilting. Story goes as a girl wakes in a strange place, wanders around trying to find her teddy bear, and she meets a girl in black, telling her that they are dreaming her instead of the other way round. Mysteries. The girl finds her bear, enters second level, and this time meets a crow telling her she is the last Klinnburger and she needs to find out what happened. The quest starts. For this game, controls are pretty forgiving. You don't fall off platforms and you can pick things as long as you are near enough without needing to face in the direction of the item. Attacking, however, is very hard for me. Since there's a lag in her attack movement (by way of a kick), I've yet to grasp the best timing to press the sword button. As of now I still can't get pass the monster in second level. But that's probably because I suck. I dig the dreamy like worlds a lot. This alone can carry me through the levels. The skylight in game is constantly changing color, and the music changes when you enter a new area. If you exit the game in the middle of a level, you'll return to the start of it. If you die, you wake up at the nearest checkpoint (I think that's a checkpoint, but don't take my words for it since it doesn't look like one). I've played too little to tell if the game will get better or worse or worth the price, but I did enjoy it (it's like my own little fantasy journey) and am not regretting my purchase. More impressions later. Manathilian Well-Known Member Mar 31, 2009 64 0 0 #11 Manathilian, Aug 2, 2010 Awww hell.... I just beat it.... I guess its only 5 chapters long right now. It ended with a cliffhanger.... As of right now, I'd say the game isn't worth the full four dollars (although I still rather enjoyed it); but with additional content, I think it could definitly earn its price. However, until then, I'd suggest that most people should wait for either a price drop to $3 or an update with another chapter or two. I look forward to seeing how the developer will continue the story.
