Alright so I was just minding my own business browsing tA when a spider suddenly comes scurrying across my keyboard. was a fast little sucker and crawled into the hinge area before I could reach for it. I tried poking it with a piece of paper to get it out of there but then it runs INSIDE my computer (I was using a MacBook) through the air vents. I shut down the computer and just put it on the floor hoping it'd crawl out, so far I haven't seen anything. any suggestions as to what I should do about this one :S
A giant spider crawled into your MacBook? The biggest gap is the DVD/CD player. I question your perception of size. Perhaps you're a Keebler elf?
well ok it wasn't a foot-long tarantula i'd say with its legs stretched out it was about as big as one of your keboard keys small enough to squeeze into the vents in the hinge
wow..thats a big spider..haha jk. i might be dead..but i would just set it down in a cool dark place..maybe put some food out (whatever spiders eat) it cant stay in there forever
Do you guys live in a place where you only see jumpers or something? Seriously, we commonly have spiders around that are about the size of a low-cost cell phone, and those aren't even the big ones.
Eh i've seen a spider inside my old Compaq desktop, pretty big and nasty... but I never seen it since after I inspected it a year later. It's just a spider, it won't kill you. Just let it die by closing the laptop everytime after use and watch your fingers , type in super speed.
Maybe it's just me, but covering a laptop in Raid isn't the best of idea. When I lived in South America, the (really nice, I'll have to admit) house I lived in had a ton of vegetation swarming with mosquitos. Used bug-spray all the time. Heavy duty isn't safe at all to be using near stuff you touch frequently. Smell always gave me migraine. One of those canisters of compressed air seems like a safer bet. Flush it out away from the processor. Prevent it from frying and getting stuck in there.
I do have the unibody macbook. not pro. Maybe I'll try the compressed air is it supposed to blow the lil spidey out of there
Of...course...and computers just love water!! Haha...but I think compressed air might work...see if you can get a borrow a big compresser...give it about 100 psi and it will be dead
