Oh bummer. Once again after installing the latest update the game keeps getting to 99.9% and then tells me to get a good internet connection, which I have! They really need to sort this issue out. I’ll wait a day and if it still isn’t sorted I think it’s time to move on for me.
Had the same issue. Did the same "solution" I mentioned earlier about reacquiring the data and it worked. I'm not actively playing the game but I just do daily log in at the moment. This connection issue / bug is one of the many reasons why I hate online games.
Now the game just crashes on startup. Unfortunately because of that happening I am unable to even try your solution. So I had to uninstall and reinstall the game, and yet once again I have to start a whole new game. There seems to be no way the end user can access any save data on the servers from their end. You have to contact the developers and hope that they can retrieve it. I’ve had enough. Once bitten, twice shy, as they say. I have way too many games in my library waiting for some of my limited gaming hours that I can’t afford to waste time on games that may or may not work. A shame as I really liked the game but that’s it for me. Lesson learnt.
