Ah thanks for the tip, I'll give that a go. Although I really hope that it IS a bug and not as intended. I don't mind so much if they've done the gift thing for people who can't wait to unlock the trials, but I absolutely DESPISE being asked to shill to my mates for stuff. One reason i don't go on Facebook anymore, no i don't want a free panda/seeds/smurf/large latte/otherbulls*it If I think they'll enjoy a game, I tell people, my mum and my best mate are currently playing through A:WE after I told em, "This games cool! you'll like it." Didn't require any bribery from the dev for that. Also, I double dipped as the price was reasonable, So, i'll be spamming my friends twice? great! :roll eyes: EDIT: Didn't work, don't have any crystal friends, and when trying to send a gift to a friend from my phonebook, it said i had already sent it to that friend. Considering it was one of my own email addresses, added especially for this purpose, I find that unlikely. Not happy about this, if intended, total dick move from the devs, and I regret my recommendations.
Haha, I just use Crawler/Shield/Crawler, with the front Crawler upgraded as heavily as possible. A compact team is easy to cover with powers and manage, and maxed Crawlers have insane power. Also all golds on Hardcore and I'm working on Trials now (just got to the 12th). You might be tossing the Drone in the path of your troops. Behemoths have an area-effect attack, so if your troops are near the Drone, you'll still get hit. Throw it on the opposite side of the Behemoth. Also, never approach Scorchers from the front. Don't forget to use Repair while under fire, either, because it'll keep your troops alive and you can usually end the encounter with full health.
Thanks for the strategies. Now I look much closer at my enemies before planning a route. Got past the nest 3 levels. At the bridge force field level. This is the best game in awhile.
I'll have to try that out, I had been using dragon(or tank)/shield/crawler, your method would take towers out a lot quicker I think.
It's all set in the same place, near/under the anomaly, in the middle east somewhere but I forget the exact country. No sign of Tokyo at all. Are there extra maps set in Tokyo in the PC version?
If there's more stuff in the PC version, I hope it shows up here, even if it's DLC. Finished everything in this game now and I'd love more of it, especially if the challenge level goes up Maxed crawlers take out the regular towers in a single shot, it's insane. You have to micro somewhat better since crawlers can get killed quickly if you're not paying attention, but it pays off well.
Oh yeah I know But only have like $300 - $350 all the time. Good for 2 units. I never get any money ?

Achievements I'm going for all the achievements, and need the following: War Hero - Earn every gold medal in the game. Campaign Colonel - Complete all Story Mode missions in advanced mode Campaign General - Complete all Story Mode missions in hard mode. Diversity is fun - Use 6 different units from mission start to finish. Survivalist - Complete a mission without using the Repair Some questions: I've already earned all gold medals on easy, plus got gold on that one Squad Assault mission. What else do you need to do for War Hero? Do you actually need all golds on Hardcore (if so, how do you know which ones you've already gotten?) If you complete the campaign on Hardcore, do you automatically get the achievement for Advanced? I started the final mission, bought one of each type of unit, and finished the level - yet I didn't get Diversity is Fun. Are there other hidden conditions? What level did you guys use to get Survivalist? Thanks, Dan
You do get the Advanced achievements for playing Hardcore, yes. I don't know if you need all the golds to be on Hardcore (mine are, but w/e), you might as well pick them up on the way to getting General. It's a fun challenge, right? Play Mission 14 on Casual for Survivalist, I used my usual crawler/shield/crawler team. You'll want to swap back and forth betwen your front/back crawlers whenever their shields are near-depleted so you don't take much real damage. Decoys last a really long time on Casual, so take advantage of it. A little messy, but not too difficult. EDIT: Played the same mission for Diversity. Make sure none of your units die. Should be a lot easier than getting Survivalist, just stay as far as possible from the artillery strikes because your team is so large that the tail end will get hit a lot otherwise.
Thanks! That worked for me for both Survivalist and Diversity. As for getting golds on all the Hardcore missions, I've already gone through 10 of them... Not sure which ones I need to redo. I wonder if you really need gold on all difficulties, or if it's just a glitch.
Same Commander Trials issue here. Well, for lack of something better to do, I'll try and complete the campaign on Advanced and Hardcore; hopefully the game will be updated by then. Great game, overall - I just hope more content will be added later.
Must fight urge to make fun of poster... The PC version has missions that take place in Tokyo (the capital city of Japan!!) as well.
getting past level 5 I love this game, but i must have tried 100 times to get past level 5, "Unexpected Attack" on my iPhone 4. Can anyone help me before i snap? LOL.. Maybe i'm not routing correctly, or picking the right weapons. And how can i buy more weapons? One more question: i thought on the video, there was a soldier leading the weapons...is that at a higher level, or only available on iPad? Yeah, I need some help.
