Fights in Smash champs Hi again guys, Your objective in Smash Champs is to win challenges against other Trainers. A challenge pits one of your Champs against one of your opponents Champs. After you have challenged another Trainer, you must prepare your Champ for battle. You do this by playing through an action-packed training session. When the training is done, you unleash your Champ against your opponent. What follows is a fight cinematic to portray the outcome of the challenge. Apart from your performance in the training-session, there are two factors that will influence the result of a challenge. The alignment AND the level and possible customization of your Smash Champ. Stay tuned for next weeks post where I will share a Gameplay video!
So far the graphics are great and gameplay is smooth. Could there be a command list for the characters added? Have not encountered any issues thus far iOS 7.1.2 iPhone 5S
Hi Parvin, Thanks for the feedback and kind words! Could you elaborate on your suggestion of a command list for the characters?
Like a moves/combo chart for the characters (similar to the commands list in Street Fighter Volt). I just found myself swiping in all directions to get different attacks which was kinda frustrating trying to replicate certain attacks. (Not sure if I explained it good enough, sorry)
The only swiping you do is during the training. I'm pretty sure the results fight is automatic. Just sit back and watch.
Hi kenken11, Glad you asked because this is exactly the agenda for the next Friday-post where I'll share a Gameplay video with you guys. Stay tuned and check back Friday around this time
Hi Parvin, Smash Champs is an untraditional fighting game as you are not able to control the Champs in combat. Instead the combats are a cinematic way of showing the winner of a challenge between two Trainers (players). The competition revolves around a training session before the combats. These sessions have you swiping and slashing training balls in different combos at your Champ. Its your performance here - together with the level, customization and alignment of your Champ - that determines the outcome of a combat.
Gameplay trailer All right, here we go! Take a look at the Gameplay trailer for Smash Champs. I’m here to answer any questions you might have. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Yeah, there are no moves or combos. This is basically a "fruit ninja with friends" type of game. You take your turn, swiping at balls, and then your opponent takes his turn. Then you get to watch a cinematic of the two characters fighting, based on how each player did during the "fruit ninja" ball swiping part. If you were swiping during the combat cinematic/replay/whateveryouwannacallit trying to directly control your character, then you have greatly misunderstood what this game actually is.
Hey guys, Hope you enjoyed the Gameplay trailer last Friday. We are currently working on presentation videos for all the Champs and of course a Launch trailer. So there is definitely some cool stuff to look forward to as we are getting closer and closer to release. But for now I want to focus a little on a thing that was teased in the Gameplay video: Alliances in Smash Champs. Alliances: The six Champs in the game are divided into three Alliances: Earth, Shadow and Fire. Earth Champs are strong and heavy brawlers. Shadow Champs are cunning fighters who use magic and poison. And Fire Champs rely on their sublime speed and agility in combat. Each Alliance has an advantage over another. Earth is stronger than Shadow, Shadow is stronger than Fire, Fire is stronger than Earth, and often this advantage is enough to determine a close challenge. In the combat cinematic, the Alliance advantage shows itself as an powerful Smash Move. The ending of the Gameplay video - the part with the two icons colliding - is the beginning of such a move. Youll see a Smash Move in its whole next Wednesday in the presentation video of Jag.
Gear Up your Champs Hi guys, An important part of Smash Champs is unlocking gear for your Champs. Gear increases the Power of a Champ and thereby gives you another potential advantage in challenges against other players. Each Champs has three sets/levels of Gear, and each set consists of three parts: Head, Body and Legs. The higher the level, the more Powerful the Gear is. You can however mix and match different parts as you see fit - they don't have to be from the same set. What do you think of the Gear you can unlock for Jag and Teddy?
Smash Champs - JAG Reveal Trailer Hi guys, I just wanted to show you the character video of Jag. Here you can see the aforementioned Smash Move in its entirety. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Neat! Subway Surfers has been VERY well cared for, and Kiloo has won my loyalty and my interest in future titles. Maybe an animal will show up as Subway Surfers character?
As usual, great art direction. Good job Kiloo people! But, one question, wheeeeere is Kung Fu Panda?! Are you guys planning something with DreamWorks to secretly add him in an upcoming update? Like the GameBakers did with Street Fighter characters in Combo Crew?
Glad to hear that We actually thought of doing some cross promotion between Smash Champs and Subway Surfers, but eventually we decided not to. So for the time being you will not see the Smash Champs migrate to the Subway Surfer's world
