Wow, it really does look incredible. Again, the art style is just amazing. I love it. And I'm really glad you allowed the Pizza's facial expression to change! It's sometimes the littlest things that make a big difference! Love the boss level looks so far! I would love to see a video in maybe a month or two just to give feedback on actual gameplay. Keep up the great work!
@DodgerBlue016 and @QBC Thanks for the very positive responses! I think we're getting very close to a time where some more video will be appropriate, so stay tuned! Jacob
Wow that new art is really out of this world ! I was always kinda sceptical about the style, since it was very different in colors and strokes, but now these latest images when everything is put in context and a whole bunch of stuff is visible, this is awesome Still very interested how you put it all together. You obviously have very big interest in pleasing your customers but me personally I get turned down by having sooooo much content in front of me the first time playing it. I seriously hope you'll do it in "update form" instead of blowing out all that content away right from the start !
I think the most familiar way to explain the structure of the game is to compare it to a Mario game. Remember how Mario Bros. 3 had Big World, Desert World, Pipe World, etc? But you are not confronted with it all at once, you take things on one level at a time, one world at a time. Pizza is a big adventure just like that: the universe and variety unfolds as you play, in bite-sized doses. As far as updates, the initial release will have 10 chapters, each with 10 levels, but we have 3-4 new chapters already in the planning stages for updates, assuming the game gathers a following. Jacob
@DodgerBlue016 We are working on stitching together a new gameplay video right now, which we'll release soon. At that time we'll also be announcing the release date and the price. Things are coming along nicely. All 100 levels are now in the game and now it's time to polish, polish, polish! Thanks everyone for being patient! Jacob
As promised! Here's a new gameplay video for Pizza, and we've also announced the release date and price! Have fun! http://www.rivermanmedia.com/news/206-pizza-vs-skeletons-holiday-update-video
Haha, yeah. That's an arrangement I did for our game Fat Roll Santa. I picked it because it's fast and heavy. But mostly, I picked it because I think this will be the last major status update before the game releases, so this video will have to carry us through the holidays! Jacob
Well you grabbed me with the title. The game play video definitely entertained my kids. How close are you to beta? Will there be something before the holidays to play with? -
We're still trying to decide how we're going to run the beta. We've never done a public beta. Do the other devs on this forum seem to get good results running betas with TouchArcade users? Jacob
You can partly run it through your test flight account. We are in the process of forming an actual beta program. I think any type of beta testing can be helpful though even if it is just a few players. The trick is getting good feedback. -
Yeah TestFlight is definitely a good choice. You can always contact someone like Red1 or Crex to spread word to the Beta Tester Alliance. There are some experienced testers there that will provide good feedback. Here's a link http://forums.toucharcade.com/group.php?groupid=468
Next year? What the f- Jk But getting a release window in the new year, you can work on the game and make it even better. Good luck.
That's the plan! We probably *could* rush it out before the holidays, but I'd rather take our time, get it right, and release it to players who are eager for something new during the post-holiday doldrums. Jacob
Guess what? Pizza is DONE!! Now we just need to test it! ...and test it some more! In celebration, we're making all our games free for the holidays. No ads. No in-app-purchase. Just free. Have fun! http://www.rivermanmedia.com/news/219-riverman-games-free-for-the-holidays
