I seen it’s softlaunched in the US and other countries. Finished about 15 levels. It really lives up to its name “Casual”. Goes back to its roots. Doesn’t try to complicate things. Simple puzzle-based mechanics with access to different types of birds right from the start and also has a powering up of birds mechanic. Only one currency - to purchase more moves. Heart system for when you lose, which recharges over time. ...And that’s about it. Some might find it bare-bones and lacking in features, especially in today’s world of F2P games. But its simplistic nature is its main charm and winning factor. I like the casual play of it for 5-10 minutes of gameplay not overcomplicated and not loaded with 100 currencies. ste86uk likes this. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #10 ste86uk, Mar 10, 2020 Well that cheered me up That sounds good so far with the game sounds like it’s back to the old days. When the last angry birds 2 come out I played that a lot and completed everything 3 stars but then as they added more over time I lost interest. I just wanted to okay angry birds not all the other stuff they added on. Sadly it seems like Apple have blocked me from changing my App Store region I guess I’ll have to stop being lazy and make more accounts. sakara214ever likes this. macplash Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2014 2,645 1,103 113 Male 3D artist Munich, Germany #11 macplash, Mar 10, 2020 @ste86uk it’s never going to be like good old Angry Birds back in the days. First games were premium, no f2p crap there. I didn’t try this new game myself, but from this quote it obviously has energy system, so I’m not touching it. Ever. ste86uk likes this. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #12 ste86uk, Mar 10, 2020 I understand that completely because energy systems can really suck. Although sometimes they don’t matter when they are just lives because if you do good you don’t lose them. But I’ll check it out and see what it’s like as I don’t like feeling like I can’t play at all when I want to. I don’t even know why they do it I’ve never paid to get energy in any game. It contains all the levels right up until just before they introduced the Mighty Eagle, which was the first IAP introduced in the game and really snowballed the free to play aspects of the series. It's just nothing but 300-400 straight up levels, where you can just play and replay as many times as you want to get the 3 stars. It is such an oddly refreshing experience even though the port itself is sort of janky. In other news, apparently the original Angry Birds was pulled from the App Store in December. Obviously it was just a husk of its former self anyway, but still, that's a major piece of mobile gaming history just… gone. But I haven't heard anything from Rovio themselves about this game at all. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #20 ste86uk, Sep 21, 2020 @Boardumb that sucks, it sounded like it was a pretty decent game. I don’t follow Rovio all that much but I just started on Darkfire Heroes and hear they purchased that game so hoping that doesn’t get pulled for a major revamp or anything, I don’t want to start again.
