Just Soent an hour with it. It's so freaking amazing and fun. Battleheart Legacy is going to have some competition :0.
Really enjoying myself with this title. It's a fun turnbased strategy game. Not sure how p2p is it but so far the first few missions were awesome. Unique for Angry Bird, but they did a great job. It's very polished
Not too impressed with how they changed the daily golden pig. It's no longer hiding in a level, but floats around your screen. You fight it all by itself, and it seems to get progressively harder each day. He rewards have been dropped to 2 gold as well, but with a spinner at the end that gives you either 1 silver, 3 silver, or a chest (I don't know the contents). It also won't let me use any chilies.
Does anyone know if this game is similar to Angry Birds Go! Where after a certain point it becomes a bit of a waiting game as you unlock more characters? I have Red and Chuck unlocked and am at the stage before the bridge crossing after you tap the rock to get stuff out of it (Screenshot Below). Reason I ask is because I'm able to grind out the levels as much as I want right now without any timers and am enjoying that and would love to stock up before a timer kicks in. I've also been grinding some stages that have different prizes of x3 to see how much of a chance we who don't want to spend money on the game have of getting those items. I've been playing the stages 20 times to get a good number and will post results later on today.
I'm seriously loving this. It appears it's pretty fair iap wise for the person above me. I've done 10 missions and it appears there's no wall yet. I've heard others say it's very fair as well. There's certain items you can buy that are consumable like the golden pepper that allows boosts forever. Which is nice. You can buy crafting items & stuff as well but you earn them after every mission with a spin wheel.
I feel like the crafting dice are stacked. When you make equipment it can be 0-3 stars. That determines the power of the item. I used 10 diamond ( 2$ worth ) and got 0 stars 8 times and 1 star twice:
Tried sharing my drop log of loot from my google doc I made but it doesn't seem to be letting me post it each time I add the link to my post, so here's my wall of text of loot drops. Keep in mind I only counted victories where I got 3 stars in. This is how I am logging my loot probably not accurate or the same for everyone else but is how I'm doing it. Fight 1 - 3 stars loot logged. Fight 2 - 3 stars loot logged. Fight 3 - 2 stars loot not logged, played again got 3 stars and logged loot. It can be quite a grind later on, especially when you are forced to craft items yet don't want to pay IAP to unlock the higher chance forges. How does this work? Well without the IAP versions you get a lower chance to craft the best item, which makes you grind for more materials, which makes you try for new crafting chances. There are levels later on that need the best equipment possible to even have a chance of surviving. Once you get into the pirate stages it can get quite difficult. The initial stages are easy.
Can you craft any items for the birds? So can mix items to make unique looking birds? Or does each bird have set items/sets so everyone will have birds that look the same? Is there any random item/armour/weapon drops.. Or is it all crafting materials?
There are set items that only certain birds can use, so eventually all red birds will look the same depending on which pieces you have equipped, same for yellow bird, same for white bird. No random drops, from what I remember in the NZ version there are only recipe vendors and you win crafting materials based on a random wheel after battle. Your chances for materials goes up if you 3 star a level but only to about 35% 3/8 in your favor (could be even smaller, math is hard) so you still have poor odds for the max amount of loot even when completing a level with a high score. There are a couple of ways to get random loot drops though, by spending premium gold coins on your golden piggy bank back at camp, or by doing a free roll at a friend's camp. On a positive note it looks like they streamlined the beginning tutorial levels a lot more, and the graphics look better, at least I think they do . . . I don't remember a prominent shield graphic for the red bird shield ability. I also don't like that certain elements of the game are locked behind Facebook social walls. The gameplay, sound design, and enemy design is awesome though. As is the crafting aspect of the game (besides the IAP part). I do wish they had implemented a traditional item loot drop part to the game, but oh well.
I loved this game for a while when it first soft launched but got tired of playing it because of all the bugs and need for social connections. Made a Facebook just for the game as I dislike adding random people to mine and it couldn't handle the amount of friends stopped any social aspect working even using friends birds for dungeons.
Played the first 20 stages or so and am hoping the game opens up a bit. Everything feels so predetermined and canned, not the "story" but rather the options and my ability to change the outcomes, not to mention the flexibility to put some "role play" into what they've labeled an RPG. The game is so transparent as it presents special limited time offers during these initial stages of the game where you are just short of having the required currency and only able to take advantage of them via IAP. I'm all about free market, but because it feels like the ability to earn currency is less than random, I find these "special offers" deceptive and a bit insulting. I'd rather Rovio just prompt me to pay a buck for their golden doohickeys, than what appears to be a deceptive charade. I could be wrong, but of all developers, I hate seeing the folks that put touch screen gaming front and center, resort to multi currency, IAP shenanigans.
I have played about 10 stages after getting the 2nd egg. I would say options really open around 3/4 the way to the 2nd egg. Do you want your red bird to be guardian or samurai or knight. Guardian can do a 20% defense buff that last three turns but does the worst damage. However that attack lower enemy attack by 15%. Samurai does more than double the damage of guardian and can give the whole party a 45-55% defense buff. But the buff only last one turn and the normal attack doesn't give status effects. However the normal attack does multiple little hits, which makes it great for enemy that dodge any attack over 63 damage. Knight makes enemies attack himself and can give a single good defense buff that last a few turns. His normal attack isn't much better than guardian Every bird has this amount or more decisions in what class to choose.
Was excited for this but the fact that it is level based makes it very uninteresting for a turn based rpg. I became bored right away with it
