I haven't seen one yet, just beat level 60 then flew through all the way to level 73 just from 2 lives and a few ads. I don't see how there would be a paywall...possibly if your terrible at the game and need spells? Other than that it's just waiting which isn't a paywall.
no, the paywall is when you are running out of option to watch the video to get extra birds and it kicks you out of the game to retry the levels (requires gems) where you are running out of option to watch the video to gain extra gems too. this is where the paywall is. the game force you to pay to get extra gems.
I suppose it depends on your definition of the word paywall, for me what you describe is just a terrible free to play model. A paywall for me is something you can't get past without paying, I know technically you can't carry on playing without spending but if you wait you can. For me I always thought of it as like get to level 99 then pay us to continue or get to level 99 and have to start purchasing power ups or you have no chance to continue. Anyway a body have a favourite bird? I of course love Torrance and the black bomb as they are awesome, but silver use to be my least favourite and the white bird but I'm starting to get really good with those now. The white one is awesome depending on the level build since you can drop a bomb on one and then the bird ploughs into another tower so it's great to clear a whole stage. Silver I actually rarely use for the slam ability, usually I aim low on a tower then tap when it's close as the force of the up push destroys them. Got my Torrance and woody on bronze now and I was first in this tournament but someone managed to get 700k and I'm stuck at 664k and can't beat it : (
So im getting crashed left right and center here every time i start a new level, like maybe after reopenning the game and complete a level or 2, doesn't seem to be many people experiencing what i am currently. Is it because of my outdated 4s Iphone?
That's weird, just strolled through 6 levels without any crash then at the 7th one it crashed. Game is as smooth as baby skin to me, just the crashing getting on my nerve
It's weird I played the tournament earlier but no video for an extra try, a video just shown for an extra try and it reset my timer to 3 hours. Also it doesn't seem you get any points for unused birds? Sometimes I wonder if I'm better firing them off to destroy whatever I can before it ends.
Much has already been said about this game, but I just wanted to give my opinion as well. First off, I think it's great how they improved the graphics, made the game more fluent etc. Also I like the new arena system, which also trains you at the game. Of course I don't like the lives system and the fact that you sometimes just get the wrong birds for a certain level. I don't think it's as bad as some people make it though. I think you can still come a long way in the game, also by occasionally watching an ad for an extra bird, which people seem to find a good monetization model, judging by for example the reactions to the game Radical. Also with patience and conservative use of pearls and spells, I think you can beat many levels without paying once. Furthermore I also noticed that I'm improving at the game and start knowing how and when to use certain birds, so I can make my way through the levels by striking each room sometimes. Also some people noted that the core of the gameplay of AB is to keep retrying a level for three stars, which you can't do here because of lives and random levels. I agree that this is true for the other games, but they changed the nature of the game, also by adding the extra bird by filling a bar feature and by not adding birds that are left over to the score. I think this is quite nice, you just must not compare it to the system used in older games. Overall I am really enjoying the game so far and find myself coming back to it all the time and playing through all my lives before stopping. A final note on the TA review: I personally felt like they did it to intimidate people a bit, by giving it five stars. Of course it fuels a nice discussion, but let's be real, the game has some flaws (especially that it sometimes stops you from playing) and can't be rated as a perfect game. However I agree with the positivism about the game itself!

To be fair, if I had a dollar for every time someone publicly, vocally quits TouchArcade then comes back to complain more the next day, we wouldn't need to do a Patreon. Anyway, the reason comments like that are so hilarious is because people for whatever reason treat game reviews like the end all be all final word on how they should feel about a video game, or that the way they feel about a video game has since been determined as "wrong." I really like Angry Birds 2, just like I really like Candy Crush. This makes some people really angry and I've got no idea how to deal with that other than just laugh at the absurdity of being so heinously offended by someone else's opinion of a video game. These people who get so crazy (If you think the public comments are nuts, you should see the mod queue of stuff that didn't make the cut) have never met me, don't know me, and probably will never make any kind of attempt to do either... But hate me with the fire of a thousand suns because I happen to enjoy a video game they don't.
I'm not going to say what I was....but anyway a review is one persons opinion it can't be wrong as it's just that persons opinion. I'd of give the game 5 stars but I went with 4 because of the lives but I'm still getting a lot of play and on level 106 now.
Just to be clear, there is no such thing as a perfect game. Every single game ever made ever, and most likely every game that ever will be made, has some sort of flaw. 5 stars does not mean a flawless game, but it means it comes as highly recommended as possible. In the case of AB 2, I don't think it's crazy at all to say that every mobile device owning person should at the very least download and check it out.
Man, the new mechanics lead to some cool stuff in this game. I slung the white bird toward a portal. Dropped its bomb into the portal, which A) launched the white bird up and destroyed the first tower, and B) shot the bomb into the portal, out the other side and into the second tower. Man, that looked cool. Man.
