We're going to be doing this via a special code in the game. So, if you've purchased the first game, feel free to send us an email at [email protected]. When the game is released we'll send you your code for what secrets we have in store Basically, just that you've bought it!
Now I feel I need to say hi too, as the programmer behind the AIG2. No worries - it will run much faster, much smoother and overall better. Take that as a promise from me
I'll be posting regular updates here within the coming week once I get back from Berlin for a much needed reset to my usual surroundings ^_^ I'll have small design coverage on how things are thought up here and ways everyone on Touch Arcade can be a part of the awesomeness that our friendly walrus has behind his twinkle of an eye
Great to hear AIG is moving on from its initial state. Salad needed to up their game. It was just too hard on my 1st gen ipod to play, but the concept is cool, trying to make a minimalistic game that still captures the essence of great gameplay. So much going on at RTTM &Co, looking forward to it all! Looking forward to my 4G, have a folder just for iSR, Straight Aces, AIG... iSR beta!!!
Maybe I should announce here first that the update for AIG 1 is out. Game Salad put out an update to their engine last week, so I dropped everything else so I could put together an update as quick as possible. Version 1.004 is by far the best version yet. The load times lighting quick on my iPad, and now passable on the 3G phones. The best part is, however, that the game plays so much better now. You touch the screen and actually get a result right away. The engine is starting to get to a level of performance where I could see making something else with it. In short, I think people are finally going to be able to enjoy AIG now. Speaking of iSR, 'Jeep.. did you see the 3DS stuff this week? I'm doing my best to get a devkit for the system. Even if it means partnering up with someone bigger..
Awesome!!! iSR in 3D would ROCK MY SOX!!! 3DS is SOOOOOOOOOO FTW cuz it's got PS3/XBOX360 quality graphics!!!!
Back from Berlin, and while I can definitly say I had a good time, I'm more exhausted by the amount of stuff I did there than actual resting, but it was a very nice change ^_^ So far work has picked up quite a bit on this fun little game. We are fleshing out more of the levels as well as item pickups for the time being while nailing down a few of the core fundamentals of each character in the game. So far what we have in store for our friendly walrus has me excited I currently just started playing PixelJunk Shooter and have gotten alot of inspiration from it and applying to this game. If you havent played it be sure to give it a go as its very fun. Outside of development for this title we are currently initiating some other possible titles that will either release before or after AIG2. remember, any questions or requests you can post here and we'll give our quips and quotes
3DS sounds amazing, and something as intense as iSR would be the best possible use of 3D. I don't believe 3D will succeed until the technology can support multiple simultaneous viewing angles without peripheral/glasses. Multiple viewing angles is less important for handheld devices, but the technology would need to be ported as a unique/compatible standard to all media (handhelds, computers, tv's...). So I don't see it happening globally before another 5 years or so. But the 3DS would be a great platform to test the technology. If I had the resources I would try to invest in a port for the 3DS!
I still have to install the last update on my ipod... Looks like a great mix of 2d shooter and physics puzzler, the animation makes the game, and the 2 elements make it looks like there is a lot happening at the same time, yet it seems manageable. Artwork reminds me of aquaglobs...
Wanted to post our first teaser trailer for the sequel. Be on the lookout for more, soon. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Here's a peak of a jungle setting.. Also, we've put AIG 1 up for a very random sale. It's 99.5% off, the regular price of $200, but only for a couple hours longer.
Art work looking really good. And the style suits the gameplay... haven't synced my ipod for a week, soo many new games and updates to add on but getting my iphone 4 on Monday...
Well I hope it will be there on Monday. It left Shenzhen on Thursday and this morning it was spotted in Hong Kong... Still a long way to go!
