We're surprised that Pia (best voice in the competition) got sent home. She sings circles around some of the remaining contestants.

And last year Adam Lambert didn't win, which was a joke.

What's the story with American idol voters. LOL.

I predicted Pia would be in the final, so now I need to re-guess my top 2. Anyone have any guesses?

    Idol haters - please don't flame. :)

Well, I'm guessing people thought that she would automatically be safe since she is good so they voted for someone else.

As for final 2? hmm. Thats hard. My top 3 are James, Casey, and Scotty. Expected Pia to be in atleast the top 5 but WOW what a shock.

Actual American Idols could not win American Idol. American Idol is a joke. The ability to sing a musical entertainer does not make. The show is far more important than the go. It's the package, the performance. The stage presense. Charisma. "It" factor. It's the intangibles, the things you cannot measure on some competition. This is why so many successful entertainers lost Star Search and why the most successful people from American Idol generally don't win. The show puts too much emphasis on a person's ability to sing. Lots of people can sing. Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus are actual American Idols, not because they are great technical singers, but because they own the stage. Own the stage or get off the stage. Even Taylor Swift isn't a great singer. She's a far better performer than she is a singer, but that's kinda the point.

Taylor Swift, Lada Gaga, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne. Likely they would all do poorly if they appeared on American Idol. That is an indictment, not any of those real American Idols, but rather an indictment on the show itself, and how ridculous is it. When it comes to judging mainstream industry talent, American Idol is about as worthless as a pile of crap.

Nowhere near to flaming. He presented an honest opinion, I see no harm in that.

Especially since I share the opinion. :p But that's mostly because the people love their pop, and I hate pop, so I never really appreciate what comes out of that show.

I like Idol because the contestants really want to win; it means everything to them.

This thread is not about whether the show is good or bad....We already know some people love it and others hate it. That's fine. Just want to know who people think will be in the final?

If you don't like idol, read another thread :)

Adam should have won, I agree. Mind you, he's probably done better than Chris since the programme, despite being runner-up.

This year, with Pia gone, no remaining contestant stands out like Adam did.
