you're not great at combos? You're #1 on my gc friends combo leaderboard and I have 35 friends playing this game so I don't think you're bad at combos
Ha! I didn't even know there was a combo leaderboard?! Isn't the bulk of your score coming from the combination of tricks? How are you doubling my score? Is it distance? Maybe that is my problem...I die too early?
Hey all, great game. Here's a couple of questions that may or may not have been answered previously: When you get beyond the third or fourth elder does the terrain change at all? I noticed more roofs and stuff but how about beyond those minor changes? Anything sweet? Has anyone here unlocked all of the characters? If so, which is best?
My highest so far is 119,488 and highest combo is 15,480. The wing suit really helped me with combos. Currently working on level 30
I checked out the distance and combo leaderboards. Thanks for the heads up on that. My distance definitely needs some work. I need to ease up on the combo and go long. I also need to crash two rocks with one speed blast...it's proving to be harder than I originally thought.
I don't normally enjoy endless runners very much, but this one is amazing. As others have said the art direction just really brings you right onto the mountain. The devs have stated their love of snowboarding and nature as influential in this game and it really shows. 5 stars no doubt. P.s. Anyone had a problem with achievements unlocking? I seem to be getting the character unlock ones, but nothing else. Just curious.
The only thing that really bothers me about this game is that the music gets so repetitive, because it's the same track that always starts at the same place every run... The track itself isn't bad when you have a long enough run but when you restart a lot it gets SO annoying. I would turn the sound off but I heard that bugs achievements. Otherwise I wish the music would continue playing when you crash instead of starting over every time you restart. EDIT: One other thing that frequently pisses me off is how unresponsive the wingsuit button is. I don't use the wingsuit all that much, but as soon as I find myself hurtling toward the ground or into a chasm and desperately tap to activate it, it doesn't activate and my run ends. I'm on the 6 Plus so if anything it should be pretty easy for me to press, but I frequently find it very difficult to find the sweet spot on the screen to tap in order to activate the wingsuit. It'd be great if the devs could expand the area of that button.
I'm currently stuck on the 'jump off a wooden ramp into a grind 3x in one run' goal (level 17 maybe), and maybe I'm just missing a secret to it or something. I go through entire runs, I guess decent distances, without seeing more than one ramp the entire time. Now I have to get three? What's making it worse is that I'm avoiding jumping on bunting lines in case there's a ramp a little bit farther down the hill, and that's making runs less fun.
I don't think you are missing anything. That is a difficult goal that relies quite a bit on lucky generation. Just keep playing and try to get as far as you can. Shoot for 10k distance and there is bound to be a good run that will include enough ramps onto grinds. I relied mostly on the chasm ramp to grinds, there are a few varieties. I think the developer is working on making goals like this less of a problem. Also use Maya and work toward purchasing the wing suit. That will help lengthen runs.
Every now and then there is a ramp with about 6 rocks after it, I managed it by hitting those rocks after a grind.
I'm stuck with the "spook 30 birds while grinding in one run", I made multiple runs over 20.000 meters long each but I'm still not able to accomplish this goal. It didn't seem difficult when I saw three new goals but now it's just killing me. I doubt there's any general-purpose hint to achieve that, right? Just keep trying I guess. Btw, I unlocked Filipe the other day and it's just awesome, probably my favorite character right now even though I'm still playing with Maya most of the time.
Game Impressions Here's a pro-tip for you, which helped me in finishing that goal in less than 30 mins: don't jump (except for rocks) until you see the first wooden ramps. Don't bother with getting a good score, building speed, or anything else. Just ride the snow and jump over obstacles until you see a wooden ramp with the line just ahead of it. If you don't see the first one in the first 1,500 meters or so, just fail the run and start over again. Once you finish the first "ramp-to-grind", don't get fancy with jumps for the remainder of the run. Your goal is to "stay alive" using the most simplistic approach possible and avoiding obstacles until you can hit the next 2 ramp-grinds. On a side note, this game's given me more enjoyment than most other iOS games have. I was hooked on Ski Safari but am thoroughly enjoying AA a lot more, a large part due to the challenging yet fun missions. The visuals are breathtaking and the day/night cycles never seem to get old Here's hoping to lots of fun updates in the near future
Does anyone have any tips on the "Catch a llama while hovering" challenge? Every time I have a feather I just go over the top of the llamas. EDIT: Got it but no idea what I did different to the other bunch of times.
