Lol I just got it myself. Just got lucky. Now to work on the rock bounce. Edit: Might try Paz for this. Maya keeps overshooting the rocks.
As you said most villages have the llamas corral, so I see this as a challenge that makes the player pay attention to the scenery, think about the optimal spot to achieve that goal. It's not just luck, you gotta be at the right place at the right time.
Yea, except that the corrals are dependent on the engine to be generated, they don't appear in every village. Luck is just another word for chance, so, and I mean this politely, don't blow smoke up my butt by saying the player needs to think about the optimal spot. Optimal implies an ability to choose the time when to act based on the conditions, which is precluded by your inability to stop and position yourself on the ground when a village comes up, and a lack of control over when the condition (the village) occurs. Also, right place at the right time usually implies luck, colloquially, but I get what you're trying to say overall, there's skill to this game, which is what makes it fun. I really do think the skill is relegated to "should I keep flipping for one more second on not?". Everything else is completely outside the player's control. Got the rock to grind goal but jumping by accident 100m into the game, after trying to nail a rock bounce for the last 5 runs. Does that mean I lacked the skill? Maybe. Was I not skilled enough to stay lower considering there were a lot of rocks to grind opportunities present? Again, maybe. Did I just flat luck out and jumped at the right time in the right place? Definitely. Skill's avoiding rocks, landing without bailing. Luck's having a set of randomly generated conditions fall into place to achieve a consequence or result. Again, I'm not trying to be rude here, but we're not disagreeing over a subjective interpretation of words, but an objective one. Luck means luck and skill means skill regardless. If noticing that the terrain's changed and went from trees to houses is a skill, you're doing a sincere disfavor to the word skill.
Not getting the goal to flip over a sleeping elder. I flip over him every time before he starts chasing me, but apparently I am not doing something right. What are you supposed to do to complete this goal? Nvm... Just got it to register the flip right after I posted this...
I had a lot of trouble with that one too, it doesn't register well. You're either starting the flip too early or too late, so play with the time. Every time I landed on the fire and bounced, it didn't register. I landed behind the fire and I got it. I think you need to start it right before the llama to work. Yep lmao, same with me.
If the devs are still paying attention to this, please hear me out... What about having 5-6 goals available at once and every three completed unlocks another three. Give people just a little bit of wiggle room, so if they're having a lot of trouble with a specific goal, they have a couple of other options. Could that work? It would mean you don't have to focus solely on that one goal you have left. This rock bounce to grind -- I know I've done it before by accident. But now that I'm actively trying to do it, I can't. I would love to be able to focus on another couple of goals and let this one just happen when it happens. Edit: Or just leave it at three and every one you complete unlocks a new one, but you only unlock the next character after 30 goals. Edit 2: Anyone know if there's a cycle of weather conditions or are they random?
Well this is a refreshing surprise, no IAP whatsoever and a very tranquil gameplay experience. I also love the different goals which never seem to become repetitive unlike other endless runners out there. Plus it has llamas ahoy, something I'm sure Jeff Minter would have definitely approved of! For you younger players out there a swift Google search is all that is required to find out who I'm blathering on about #
Just stopping by to say a quick thanks! You guys have made our dreams come true. Thank you so much <3 <3 <3 ...alright, back to it here! Ryan
By the way – are there any particular social/sharing features you guys would want to see? Or any other specific features?
Someone else mentioned this, but I like the idea of the pause button being used as a camera to save/share photos. It's hard to snap screenshots without crashing into something!
Awesome game. I don't even like runners but this so smooth and appealing. Great job and a steal at the price. I have the wingsuit but I never get the icon to open it. I have the scarf charged to yellow.
The feathers are annoying. I just got the goal i was dreading to 'do' something with hover and now am debating leveling it up.
Excuse me for my poor choice of words, I'm not a native speaker of English. Even so, I never mentioned skills. I was thinking more about observation. That llama challenge doesn't require any skill, but it was one of the challenges that made me have a closer look at the scenery and enjoy the little details in the game. As for the triple backflips, what depends on luck is how fast you're gonna make it. If you survive long enough it's highly probable you'll get the chance to pull both tricks in any run, if you wait for the right moment. Anyway, I didn't mean to polemize, I was just trying to point out why I'm ok with those challenges and don't see the need to change them, but everyone can disagree of course.
I was afraid of that. Edit: I got it, but didn't charge enough to get the wingsuit. In fact, I don't think I've gotten the wingsuit with any character besides Tupa. With the others, I get the scarf really long and it blinks white, but never actually turns white. Even after a 10,000+ point combo. Feels like something might be off.
Maybe a stupid question but you bought the upgrade right? Edit: I see you said you have it. I get it all the time ,pretty much only play with maya (although I just got the tinkerer so I'm trying that out) not sure of the exact mechanic but it seems to me you have to land a few good combos consecutively to get it, then just keep landing to tricks to keep it full.
