App Store reaches 10,000 apps - not quite yet November 29, 2008 at 08:23PM A few iPhone sites are reporting that the iTunes US App Store has passed the 10,000 App mark - but this is not quite the case. What these sites are not accounting for is that many applications, after being listed on the iTunes store, have either been pulled by Apple, or the developer. So, while it is true that 10,000 apps have been released, it is not true that 10,000 Apps currently available to download. Our count, as of November 29th, is 9,630 apps - and if your were to purchase all of them it would cost you $30,692.29, as of today. But at the current rate of applications being added every day, we expect that milestone to be reached in the next 3 to 4 days! Source: Appsherpa.com
