Hi, Squeaker, you and I are maybe a minority. I try and give fair reviews but am not going to promise a rating for a promo code. Apologies for off topic reply. David
Agreed. To me, this is simply shilling in disguise. A pity, the game looks good enough for sincere good ratings (in fact I opened a game thread because I liked the look of it). Now we'd never know since I can no longer trust any of the reviews.
Thanks ... Downloaded and trying it now. Usually I can tell how good a game is from the very first few seconds or a minute, and I like this game so far, so I don't think it'll be a problem for me to give a 4 or 5-star review.
Yes, I absolutely agree with both of you. I hesitated when I saw the request for a 4 or 5-star rating for the game, but it looked good from the screenshots so I promised a review. I wouldn't ever give a less than honest rating or review since it would make me feel guilty and dishonest. Luckily, I do like the game, so it won't be a problem for me to "accede" to the developer's request. What I think developers do deserve in exchange for promo codes is feedback -- or a review if the app or game is liked.
I tried it out and left a review. Its not bad, needs a couple things like some background music, d-pad to move option, but its a pretty funky platformer with some new features. Gave it a 4 for a good start but needs an update or 2.
Hi, I would have left a review and feedback, just not a promise of a particular rating for a code. It looks as if I was spared from having to make that promise, as I did not get sent a code. Good to know you liked the game, as it does look nice. David
Hey hey! Awesome thread, and informative, too: Now we know where all those five-star App Store ratings came from! *thumbs-up*
Yeah, look at the last screenshot on the first page: "for kids and ladies" - is that supposed to be funny? This is discriminatory. I am also not more interested in buying this game if it got shilled reviews.
