I've been using Wunder Radio, Pandora and Ambiance on a frequent basis and would love to maintain their audio after leaving the app. To do this Apple needs to get around to allowing certain apps the privilege of using the background processes while other apps are open. Essentially, treat certain audio apps like they were a sibling of iPod app. Integration Ideas Developers would need to have a very slim background version of the app that could run without overally effecting the performance of the device Give developers access to some of the "Previous", "Next" and "Play/Pause" buttons that are utilized in the interface (so if the phone is on sleep mode a double home button tap would allow you to see the audio interface buttons that normally apply to iPod... and would allow you to advance to the next song in Pandora) Highlight or allow an alternate image for the app running in the background on the springboard Double tap an active background app's icon on the springboard to open dialog box with the option to quit or open the app Background apps would be killed in the same way the iPod is shut down if a game or app wants to take sole control of the audio Any other thoughts or ideas on background access for audio apps or any other apps in general?
Yeah, it will never happen. But the other way around would be nice. To let the iPod-App play music/sound from installed Apps, perhaps in special app-folders/formats...
