glad to have gotten these games via GE. playing them often one by one learning the basics. wonder how often the Iaps go onsale?
This sale has converted me into quite the fanboy, wouldn't mind slightly higher resolution assets but keepers for sure.
Ascension is probably my favorite game on the iOS so take my word how you want. I've owned the promo card IAP for Ascension for quite some time and I would say that I do not regret the decision of buying it because I play Ascension enough to have gotten my money's worth for it. I would say that it isn't necessary if you aren't a big Ascension fan because it doesn't add as much to the game as the expansions (only 6-7 new cards), but it does add some interesting new mechanics that help keep the game interesting and gives a breath of fresh air to the monotony of so much playing. I think the normal price for the promo card IAP is 99c, so there really isn't a rush to buy it as the price hasn't ever changed for it. I would recommend playing with the first 3 sets and see how much you enjoy the game before taking the plunge, but when you've played as much as me...any change is welcome.
