Any feedback would help me add more guidance where needed! Thanks. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,240 180 63 #5 Royce, May 26, 2016 Honestly, I found a lot of things quite confusing. A tutorial would do wonders for this game. Some starting tips on building a simple fortress wouldn't hurt either. As for those specific things you mentioned. I apparently did find the customize unit function, though there really nothing I could customize yet as far as I can tell. I didn't see the rankings until I looked for it now because of your post, and the same with the chest shop. I still don't know what the chest shop does however. brothamannp11911 Guest #6 brothamannp11911, May 26, 2016 Takes alot to find the chest. On the ipad the text is super small. Still wish catapults had splash damage, even just a little I feel theyd be infinitely more useful. drelbs Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2009 11,201 7 38 #7 drelbs, May 26, 2016 Great update from the original! IMHO for new players - beeline for those chests! There's plenty of gear that does nothing but improve the unit you equip it on... Only thing I feel is missing is a CANCEL/UNDO when you accidentally moved a unit instead of selecting another, but for how fast this plays it's a minor issue. Another tip: 'move' your king/queen first, then the game will auto-switch to the other army when you've moved all your units. Every so often I get a pocket of units off by themselves and almost forget to move them (by pressing the end turn button...) drelbs Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2009 11,201 7 38 #8 drelbs, May 27, 2016 Not sure what I'm buying here... gormster Well-Known Member Sep 24, 2011 131 0 16 #9 gormster, May 27, 2016 Ah weird, that's the unlock all units purchase. Will look into that, as English should always be the default language unless you're set to Japanese. What language is your phone set to? jamiejap Well-Known Member Apr 29, 2013 60 0 0 #10 jamiejap, May 27, 2016 it's buggy: first I restarted the map than I lost the troop symbol, than i restated the app and I started a fight but I pressed the wrong button and the fight was over without warning, third I started another fight and the game crashed. plus enemy moves are still to boring to watch. otherwise I still like the game! ( iPhone SE) drelbs Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2009 11,201 7 38 #11 drelbs, May 27, 2016 I'm set to English. It seems that sometimes the exit battle button does so with one press instead of two. I wonder if it would be less obtrusive in the upper-left corner. Also, you could add a button in the lower-right corner to center on the 'next' unit available to move - a pretty common thing in turn based wargames. (And the reason why I always 'move' my king first so I know for sure if I have moved all my troops or not. gormster Well-Known Member Sep 24, 2011 131 0 16 #12 gormster, May 28, 2016 Last edited: May 28, 2016 Thanks for the feedback and suggestions so far! Do any returning players miss the endless siege feature at all? I was under the impression that it was a nice bonus that got boring quickly, although looking now at GameCentre I see a few players who worked to get pretty decent scores. Looks like there's also an issue with some iPad users getting stuck in the tile or unit chooser menus. Should be a quick fix. brothamannp11911 Guest #13 brothamannp11911, May 29, 2016 Yes to endless siege, Steve. Also, and maybe I'm wrong here... But didn't the AI in the last game(s) attack your castle? I haven't had them go at me once.... I've attached a screenshot of the last match. Basically, the enemy only has a one room castle there and all the troops outside... Yet none of them make any moves until I get close and they attack. That's the only time I see aggression. Didn't their used to be opponents who would spawn above and below rather than just left and right as well? It's also not clear.. Is a matched battle tougher than an against any opponent battle? Hope someone's gotten to take on my castle, I've been trying to be more creative with it this go around. Today I started adding a graveyard for all of your troops I destroy haha, plus I put my name below the castle like I am some 14 year old kid designing Starcraft maps again putting my signature haha I think I am eventually going to build a moat to make it tougher for you all to infiltrate the castle, because it's currently set up for maximum offense. I don't know if it would be at ALL possible, but some kind of way to track how well your castle does outside of you being on control of it... Iike, does my castle defeat other people's armies? Be cool to know, maybe get a few shillings for kills, etc. It's still a fun game, thanks for making it! I don't want to sound like a negative nancy here... Just some ideas I've had playing. You've probably got a million yourself, but time and energy always get in the way of my brilliant schemes, too Attached Files: image.jpg File size: 132.9 KB Views: 1 gormster Well-Known Member Sep 24, 2011 131 0 16 #14 gormster, May 30, 2016 Hmm. Tried to make the AI this time around a bit more varied so sometimes they charge in, sometimes they wait. Not attacking at all is a bit much! I'll look at your castle and see if it's somehow affecting their behaviour. gormster Well-Known Member Sep 24, 2011 131 0 16 #15 gormster, May 30, 2016 Had a productive few days! Here are the scheduled updates so far! 1.0.1 (currently in review with Apple) - fix for iPad users being unable to close menus. - fixed exit battle and delete all unit buttons from sometimes firing from a single click. 1.1 (to be submitted once the first update passes) - adding arrows as part of the tutorial to point users towards all of the features. - fixed brothaman's passive enemies issue when on a large map. brothamannp11911 Guest #16 brothamannp11911, May 30, 2016 Great. I'm trying to build a castle with some guardtowers (barricaded Ballistas) that can shoot at anyone approaching the castle walls so it makes the castle grounds REALLY spread out. I'm going to just move all my troops to the map edges and have two large armies ready to go East and West, unless the North and South become an issue. I went ahead and bought the IAP as well, even though it was in an Asian text, I figured for $0.99 it was still worth a shot to see what it did lol. A "clear map" button would be awesome, too, Steve, so we can erase everything and start from scratch. gormster Well-Known Member Sep 24, 2011 131 0 16 #17 gormster, May 31, 2016 You can use the 'delete unit' option on the king or queen to erase the whole map. Another thing I probably need to make more obvious! themensch New Member May 23, 2013 4 0 0 #18 themensch, Jun 1, 2016 I like this game, but I have a couple questions: 1. Can I move my King/queen? 2. How do I have units use the item in their other hand? drelbs Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2009 11,201 7 38 #19 drelbs, Jun 1, 2016 1. In battle, yes - just like any other unit. Editing, no. s/he is stuck in the center of whatever you build. 2. When editing units, tap the magnifying glass, then tap a unit. Tap the 2nd small box from the upper-right and press the left/right arrows to switch their 2nd weapon. Pay attention to speed/range decreases! themensch New Member May 23, 2013 4 0 0 #20 themensch, Jun 1, 2016 Thanks! I know how to assign the second weapon, I just don't know how to have the unit use the secondary weapon - or are they both considered in the single attack? I do watch stats as I cycle through gear, it definitely pays to pay close attention! (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
