Works with iCades too! (Pick a preset in the options menu by hitting up/down on your controller). Ditto for the Silverfishes. EDIT: Silly forum went to a new page NEW PROMO CODES ONE PAGE BACK!
Well, it looks like the promo code ninjas have struck again. Seriously, is it that hard to post when you use a code so the rest of us don't have to try them all, just to find out they've all been used? Obviously, this isn't directed at you, Xexist.
I just want to say that in Match Panic and Silverfish Chaotic Box have made 2 of my most favourite iOS games ever. Nozoku is also an excellent puzzle game. I really hope that we'll see many more games from you on iOS going forward. I'm off to download Critter Panic.
Yeah, same here. If you missed out on the codes, once you get your next gift card, or paycheck - drop the couple of bucks that Silverfish and Match Panic will cost ya. There's a HUGE change that both will wind up staying on your device(s) FOREVER. You'll also feel better knowing that you supported a developer who has NEVER ONCE pulled their app only to re-release it and charge for it again, added ads to a paid app and charged again to remove the ads, converted a game to freemium after charging a premium price, or any of that other crap that seems to be ruining the willingness of gamers to drop money on unknown indie devs... we definitely need more dev teams like Chaotic Box on the AppStore! =oD
i understand your close connection, but not everyone wants to take a chance on wasting a $1 or so on a bad controlled game or something that should be universal, vs buying it twice on an unknown dev with a limited collection. when in the end it may be deleted to make room for better games and u can't get a refund on all the $1 spent everywhere on bad games, which adds up to alot of $.
Doesn't everyone "take a chance on wasting a $1 or so on a bad controlled game or something that should be universal, vs buying it twice on an unknown dev with a limited collection" every single time there's a sale? The only difference here is that ChaoticBox is kind enough to be offering promo codes to people from the kindness of his heart. You didn't get a promo code and a title looks like you something you'd enjoy? Void's right, throw a few dollars at the developers.
I don't know if you are talking about the controls in the Silverfish max game, but the controls in this game work great. There are three controls, swipe, joypad, and joystick which all work good. I don't mind developers having sd and hd versions of games, since sometimes, it's not fair for iphone users to get stuck with a universal game that is bloated with ipad retina graphics making the file size way too big. Conversely, there are a lot of universal games that skimp out on ipad retina graphics, which kind of sucks, so having an hd ipad retina version is cool. But I kind of didn't like how ipad hd versions used to be about three times more expensive than the sd versions. Nowadays though, it seems that many developers are just making the sd and hd versions the same price which is cool. But I recommend both Silverfishes highly. They are small disk sizes, and look very nice graphically. They make for great tv games using your ipad as a console and iphone as a joystick. This goes for Match Panic too.
I just wanted drill in these points Also, I love it when people call me a "team" I get it, I really do. Yes I'm unknown, and yes I've only technically released 5 games (across 8 apps) so my collection is "limited". But there are reasons. For starters I'm one guy, doing all the work. When I say "all the work" I mean ALL the work - nothing is outsourced or bought from asset stores. Even my engine was written from scratch 'cause when I started making iPhone games back in 2008 there were no engines. Yes, I've been doing this since 2008 and I'm still unknown - how pathetic is that I also do freelance graphics/website/whatever work, which takes up a lot of my time (I have to, because my games bring in a pittance). So as you can imagine it takes me a while to actually finish a game. Honestly, it's a miracle I've released 5 of them! I've explained Silverfish's controls and the reasons why there are separate iPad and iPhone versions ad nauseam and won't get into that again here - please search the forums. But if you don't want to take a chance on a buck then that's fine. Not every one is going to like the game, but I'm content in the fact that I made the game I wanted to make rather than caving to popular opinion. I try to take chances with all my games. Silverfish would've sold better if I had caved and made it a dual-stick shooter - but I wanted something different, more like a free-form homage to Pac Mac/Solar Fox. People who "get" it appreciate that. People that don't get it sometimes take it personally and make it their personal jihad to ruin the game and my life - why? 'cause they wasted a buck? - I'm serious - the hate is palpable at times. Anyway, I'd encourage you to download Critter Panic. It's free, and if you don't like it then toss it and ignore the rest of my stuff now and forever. But even if you don't like it I hope you'll realize it's crafted with care by someone who just likes making games, and isn't trying to screw anybody. BTW: Critter Panic got 54 downloads yesterday
Bought Silverfish. From the description and pictures, it looks really interesting. Can't wait to play. I also downloaded Critter Panic
Cheers! Downloads were a bit better yesterday (116) still a really tough sell for a freebie. Contrast with Pinch n Pop (421) and Pollywog (760) which is a bit frustrating considering Critter Panic is by far a better game! The power of paid-to-free promos I suppose... Note: The sale is still on! It'll likely end on Monday, depending on how things look over the next few hours. So fair warning if you want to get in on the deals, and you still got a bit of time to convince me to post more promo codes
If anyone hasn't downloaded Critter Panic yet, get on it right now! It's a true gem of the App Store.
