if we open the briefing window during a game in progress, have the game pause

i know i already commented regarding this but please move where the button for the briefing is or make it a smaller area to press...and also display on screen our current status for reaching goals/challenges

+1 to the waves.... And even ability to restart from a wave. Horde is a great model to follow.

Hi everyone, I just came back from a half day meeting regarding a few possible new maps in the Survival mode (yes, new maps. Hopefully I can put them up soon )

I see that there are lot of suggestions in many areas especially multiplay in wifi connection. Right now, we are going to focus on the Survival mode first then followed by the wifi multiplay mode.

My coworkers are now collecting all your suggestions for the Survival mode and we will discuss in our meeting tomorrow.

the dev is here kindly asking for opinions on survival mode and as i skim through page after page, half of the feedback isnt about survival mode....bleh..

anyways, I would hope that for survival mode there are no waves, im not a fan of that.
The only thing i would add is maybe a land mine that you could position and lure zombies over..
I also like the idea somebody said about a boss every couple hundred kills or so that drops items to use.

    love your game!

Okay, maybe no waves but whatever you do, PLEASE Mr. Dev Folk, don't allow continues once the player is defeated. The whole point of Survival Mode, even if multiple lives are involved, is that you go as far as you can and once wiped out will have to start over.

nazi zombie-ish?? lol or maybe a horde mode type thing, considering this game has a two weapon limit i say nazi zombie mode would work perfectly, with using points to either upgrade stats, or buy weapons on walls, or open new areas... nazi zombies mobile.... that would make bank

I disagree about the waves issue. I think we NEED waves. Why? So that it isn't always hectic. I've had little to some experience playing "survival" games including Gears of War 2's Horde, idracula, minigore, and Left 4 Dead's Survival Mode.

From my experience, Gears of War 2's Horde mode has the most pleasant experience. Idracula, is fine too due to one of their updates where they added a wave mode too. Both incorporates some kind of looting system. Horde's looting system was basically just drops from the enemies and respawning weapons on the map. Idracula's looting system was a buy-after-each-round type. I prefer Horde mode over idracula only because I can play Horde with my friends.

Minigore and Left 4 Dead had a different type of survival mode. Their survival mode incorporated continuous and never-ending waves. Their loot systems were different as well. Minigore's loot system is all based on temporary upgrade drops. For example, you have the shotgun which has limited ammo and also serves as a mine if you shoot it and they also had the clovers. Left 4 Dead's system was different from everybody's. Theirs had everything laid out for you. All the weapons, grenades, explosive barrels, and ammo were there from the start. They also give you time to set up your defenses before you the zombies come.

Why do I prefer waves instead of continuous onslaught? It gives you time to take a breather. In between each wave, there is crucial time for players to catch up on themselves, take a rest from the chaos, and prepare for the next round. And if they are playing single player, they can pause the game and come back to it later. I do realize that continuous onslaught type survival modes also have a pause button, but it's harder to quickly jump right in to it. Waves provides the time for a player to catch up on what he was doing before hand.

My suggestion for A4E, is to have waves and incorporate some sort of looting system. I'd prefer small drops from the zombies like some cash, or a few bullets. If they're lucky, players might find weapons. In between each round, they can buy things either from an in game store or from a menu. There they can upgrade/buy their weapons (only if characters bring their weapons and equipment in the game) equipment, health, and ammo. I'd prefer having to buy your weapons and equipment so that everything feels balance from the start of the game instead of having the M200 from the start and slowly, and boringly pick off the first few waves since they're relatively slow and weak zombies.

Here's my take on re-writing the intro text:

Nefount City - an offshore city on the Pacific Ocean where hundreds of pharmacuetical manufacturers were based. Without warning, the city was exposed to an unknown, infectious virus which was able to kill any living creature - human or animal - within a matter of hours.

The government thought that no one would be able to survive this epidemic and decided to wipe out the entire area by sending in troops to lay siege to the city and destroy it with incendiaries before dawn the next day.

However, troops spotted two residents - Anna and Taza - near the outskirts of the city that night. They had managed to flee the city apparently without becoming infected. They both claimed to have seen the dead coming back to life and that the city was now overrun with those living dead - zombies.

To limit fatalities to the SWAT team, Wallace (leader of the SWAT team), decides to bring in one of his best team members - Steve - to rescue other survivors with the aid of Anna and Taza.

    A4E is amazing.
All the ideas for the for the survival mode sound great. Though, i'd love to see bosses that aren't in the actual game. Or, the same bosses but bigger, and stronger of course.
Aside from that, I'd like to see more of a story. I mean, I don't mind dropping a few hundred corpses, but, that eventually gets boring. Twists and turns please. That way, you can unlock other items, weapons, new characters, etc. :)
i also agree with the wifi/3g multiplayer, with like a friends list so you can play with your friends, besides playing with a bunch of random people.
All of these suggestions are just wishful thinking though. Other than that.... I'm pretty content. 8D

Maybe add a sprint button that makes your guy just move a little faster. Also, when you pick up a health pack have it be stored in something like an inventory if you already have max health. Or you could just make it into a partly transparent icon on the right. The ability to melee would be pretty sick too.

    Perks every 3-5 levels

    Some suggestions:

at 1000 health, a health pack will spawn under you
Do more damage at full health
do a lot more damage at less then 500 health
cut reload time by .3 seconds
secondary arms - pistols power increases by 20%
secondary arms 2 - pistol crits increase by 10%
main weapon power increases by 10%
    clips will be 10% larger
    you move slightly faster
    10% more experience gain
    bosses have health bars
    10% more cash
dogs and fast zombies will run slower

A lot of these post are about making the game easer. My question is, why the heck would you want an easy game? I blew through this game in less than a week, and that was with casual playing. Another thing is, forget anything that makes the game more unrealistic. I say "more," because zombies are obviously not real. Portholes and things like that are just too much, I think. It's all about content. More story, better "A to B" level design, more weapons, more customization, more of what is already there, basically, because the current formula works great. And, of course, online play. If konami can putt around 3D racecarts online, then a topdown shooter should be cake.

Basically, please don't make it easier, please give us more content, and please give us online play. Please!

I totally agree with you. I don't understand why people would want to play an easy game; I mean what's the point if there is no challenge? As you stated, the game is already easy as it is, making it any easier would just be pointless.

+1 for online play, more maps and weapons, weapon add-ons, objectives clearer, and challenges met in lobby.

Oh, and point A to B levels would be great!

    Keep up the good work!

EDIT: i also think that when you pick up a fallen survivor you should move faster like in dead rising, because i know that most of us avoid picking them up, and this would give an incentive to do so.

Melee weapons and dual wielding of pistols would be good. Building baracades as stated before would be cool.

I'm just amazed at how popular this game is. It's a top ten app - overall, not just in the games category!

I'm not saying it isn't good, I really enjoy it. I also think the developer was clearly quite shrewd in choosing the title, because feeding off the popularity of Left-4-Dead seems like the only explanation for this level of success! (again, not that the game isn't awesome on its own merits).
