AIUEO-HIRAGANA for iPad is a discovery based learning system to learn to read Japanese Hiragana using the iPad. Unlock your natural ability to learn. Easy to understand for any age. Touch any character for clear pronunciation. Color coded system enhances quick intuitive learning. Fun memory games to develop your ability. AIUEO uses “TPR” : (Total Physical Response) in this intuitive learning experience on the iPad. Visuals with color codes, tactile interaction, and audio elegantly combine into a simple yet unique learning experience. It is recommended that you repeat with your own voice the sounds of each character as you learn them as well. The more senses you are using the easier and quicker you will learn. This is intentional. This will help you absorb yourself into the learning process. You will be unlocking your understanding with your own discoveries. AIUEO is a powerful system to unlock your understanding and learn the fun, easy, and natural way. AIUEO is designed to allow you to figure things out on your own at your own pace. It will even automatically save where you left off so you can come back to where you left off at any time. It is suggested to work on each level at your own pace. Repeat the memory games until you feel you have really learned each one. There is no “winning” or “losing” here. Just keep playing around and you will learn. •Minimal interface to focus on the learning experience •Learn both Hiragana and Katakana alphabets * •Automatically keeps track of user progress •Color coding system using a traditional Japanese color palette •Clear native voice pronunciation

Any chance of an iPhone version in the future? I'm planning on getting back into Japanese over the summer, I took a few classes a few years ago, but I need to relearn from the start as I've lost most of it. I'm currently using Human Japanese and Kana Flip, but this looks like a worthwhile study aid as well.
The Spork Within - I will probably make an iPhone version too. Need a bit of time to re-work the interface for iPhone. The iPad is awesome for this kind of immersive learning. My apps are specifically for learning to read the 2 phonetic alphabets very quickly. It will take about a week of consistent use to be very familiar with the entire alphabet for most people using these apps.
Yeah, that caught my eye. That's exactly what I'm struggling with now; when I took Japanese in college we only worked on the spoken language. I learned a bit of katakana, but no hiragana, so I'm currently trying to learn hiragana and refresh my katakana before jumping back into the language proper. If you need a beta tester for the iPhone version let me know!
send me your info in a private message. I will keep you in mind for sure. I know exactly where you are right now. I think this is just what you need.
Thanks to everyone who sent me private messages asking for codes. I have handed out about 10 codes so far. I still have some. Those of you that got a code, please give me a review in return I'd like to ask as a courtesy. I have some more codes left.
I just got 50 x 2 sets of codes as I just made an update to the apps. Anyone who wants a code, just send me a message. I know this is kind of a niche thing, but might help some of you to get off on the right foot to learning Japanese. There has to be some of you who want to read Manga or watch Anime out there...
Awesome news! My app got featured on the front page of the App store! Thanks for all the support from everyone at touch arcade. If anyone, wants a code, let me know. I have some more.
I still have several codes left. Just drop me a private message and include which device you are using, iPhone, iPod, or iPad. thanks everyone, Dan
I would love a code for iPad! I used Kotoba! on my iPod on a trip to Japan last year and (combined with intensive Pimsleur language study) it helped immensely! I hope to be able to read some on my next trip. (I still have a lot of saving to do.)
