Hey everyone, hope you're well. I was hoping the game would be out today, but it's still 'Waiting for review' on iTunes It needs to change to 'In Review', then after that it either goes through or is rejected. I have no idea which way it'll go, especially as iOS8 is out now and may cause problems (having said that, a tester of mine was another developer that had iOS8 beta on his phone, and was happy to report it worked fine). I'm really sorry about this I will of course keep you updated. Would you like me to make another video for the game to show more? The reason I ask is that it is MEGA frustrating to me that I can't seem to get a finished game into your paws. I can only imagine that you're disappointed at the very least (and I love you for that!) and actively pissed off at the other end of the (ZX) spectrum. I don't want to antagonise the latter group by teasing with another video! But if others are ok with it, I'll try and knock something up on the weekend! Again, sorry about all this. It seems to just be extraordinary bad timing QS
Knock it up and you were right about it releasing after Scotland's Independence (although that may be another 70 years after tonight). Alex Salmond has said he will ban all in-game IAPs in an independent Scotland.
I'll do that tomorrow I think! I do want to highlight more of the music in the game, as (because I didn't make it!) I can honestly say it's fantastic Some news on SOS - it's finally gone from 'waiting for review' to 'in review'. I really hope it passes this time. As I mentioned, I wrote some notes to the reviewer explaining that they'd missed a bit (!) and I hope that's enough to send it through. Otherwise we're looking at *another* delay I feel incredibly helpless. I want to yell about my game lots Hope you have a top weekend! QS =D
Yay! In review! *finger hovers above screen, waiting for SOS purchase button to appear* I'm glad I have finished my game because between this and Battle Riders, I'm going to be spending way too much time playing to build anything. Haha.
Some of you will have got a message in a bottle I just wanted to thank you all so much for your kind, kind words - I'll reply to your PMs very soon - right now it's 6am here and I'm incredibly tired and emotional - seriously, I will go to sleep with the biggest sheepy smile you can possibly imagine! Speak when I wake up! QS =D
Playing on an early copy a little sheep left on my doorstep and this is awesome. If you like single room arena platformers like Super Crate Box this is right up your alley. Lots of unblockables to keep you replaying again and again. Typical Quantum Sheep awesomeness dripping from every corner. Seriously! I can't wait to hear others feedback on how far they are getting. I thought level six was kicking my posterior until I got to level seven. I love how you can replay levels where you left off. Controls are spot on. I can easily wiggly my thumb to change direction without lifting from the screen. The action button activates your boost as well as your lasers. The 2001 reference did not go unnoticed. And did I mention that I love it? Oh yeah, and I love it. I've already unlocked two power ups, a second soundtrack and a second screen color. All in about a half hours time. This will sit on my main screen in a place of honor right next to Pix n Love Rush. Awesome little game that I will enjoy for a long time. Thank you sirs!!!
Yep I was lucky to get an early version I love it as well! Small things like all te nods to the 8 bit era. From spectrum loading noises to the control panel from the game Elite on the main menu. The fire button works well as it's a thrust button as well. The inertia of the character is just the same as the old original Jetpac and works well. It's a great old skool shooter. Very pleased to have it on my device. It's like a real 2014 homage to jetpac
This message sounds like i'm buying this bottle next thursday ?! Looking very forward to complete my collection of QS games. Good luck !
Man oh man. It's beautiful. When I was a boy I had a C64 but we all had speccy mates. It was the time of our lives going round people's houses on our bikes practising going for as far as you could with no hands on your handlebars and the games I used to be so jealous of were the Ultimate games. This just nails it for me with Jetpac as the main reference point but updated to now and as psj said that elite radar on the main screen is a beauty (elite is one of those games that i just could never dig though!). The music, unlockables, controls, general feel, level progression, bosses and everything are absolutely spot on. I'm going to be playing this one for a long time to come. Proper good work, QS. I think even the Stamper Brothers would approve of this one. I'll be buying this for my boy in Thursday. Play the game, indeed.
Well, all the people here playing early has me eagerly anticipating SOS... *switches back and forth between Air Supply and Infinite*
Zoiks! You guys have no idea what this little flood of love means to me! I'm so glad (and after all this time frankly *relieved*) that you're having fun with it! Blimey - all of that's awesome, but you know what really made me smile? That it'll set next to Pix n Love Rush on your screen. I really loved that game! Maybe they'll hug when you're not looking? Thank you! Not that I didn't appreciate the other yay stuff snipped from your quote (thanks!), but this last line is exactly what the game is! Yay for 'mission accomplished!' It has! It'll be out on Thursday (Sept. 25th) so just a few days to go! \o/ I should have mentioned this in my post here, but I was just very excited to let people who'd been waiting months and months and *months* for this to have a go! It's kinda a 'thank you' for their saintly patience and sheepyhugs Ba(aaa)h - it won't quote your imps, but I'm so so happy you're enjoying it - ty for the kind words! I love all of this, thank you! And I'm cheering through the tears of sympathy for you owning a C64... I jest Thanks all - I'm looking forward to release day - it's so liberating to know when your game's actually coming out! Also, the relief on my sheepy face that you guys are having fun with it is just beyond silly looking Thank you QS =D
''Skillfully avoiding marriage by jetting around the galaxy saving little sheep!'' Oh Sheepy. Even if your games didn't already own my heart then that line would have taken care of that all on it's own. And that's just the 2nd of 20 characters! Can't wait to see what other nuggets there are in store for us. I know that continuity in the Air Supply universe is very important to you, and I admit it's one of the many things I love about your games. And it's really nice to see how your games (read: children) have grown, from 1 bit run to Infinite and now SOS. I made it to level 17 with one life; I can tell that beating all 100 levels with a single life is going to be a great challenge! It's one I'm looking forward to. The controls, music and perks system are all excellent, and there are unlockables up the wazoo. Air Supply - SOS (Save Our Sheep) is all that I hoped it would be, and more.
I have to say that I agree with every word Andy has said above. I'll post one last thing in the upcoming thread and then save it all for the release on Thursday. I never, ever really check upcoming games as there are just so many iOS games and it is hard to keep up but after the Air Supply Infinite game came out (and I also spent way too much time on 1-bit run) and the thread was just phenomenal I remember getting a Private Message from JCho about this thread and Air Supply - SOS in upcoming games. It's been fantastic since that Invitation and spending time checking this thread on a weekly basis (sometimes more) and just seeing the process and love, attention and care put into this flipping game. To finally get to play it today has really made my weekend. Roll on Thursday when the Game Center tables go live too. I really hope this game finds an audience outside the converted as Spaceman Sam (and Mikey) are proper iOS icons in my house. Proper good luck with it all, QS.
\o/ I hope you'll find the rest interesting too - it certainly gets a bit absurd sometimes, but always, I hope, fun I don't know if you noticed, but on the info screen, as well as characters, if you press the planet button you'll get more info on the planets, the bosses, the aliens and even the UFOs - it was a lot of fun making stuff up for all of those Also. I am waiting for people's minds to be blown a bit later on. You'll understand when it happens. I honestly wish, in as non-creepy a way as possible, that when you realise a certain 'something' I could record the reaction on camera or something Actually, that's *very* creepy! Sorry! Let's just say I'm very excited for when you guys unlock something... Thank you - that's lovely. The kids say 'hi' too Wazoo wazoo wazoo wazoo wazoo! Wazoo! (Translation: I am so glad you like it - thank you!) I'm so glad you've found the thread fun. It really really really really *Really* has helped me so much just coming here and chewing the fat with lovely people. It would have been a lot harder to get this out without this thread. My only regret is that it's taken so long to get the game done! I'm excited *you're* excited. But I want to be 100% honest here in that I don't *know* for sure what the GC situation is. It should work. GC itself recognises the game - as in you can go to GC on your phone and see the leaderboards and achievements are there. The problem is that the game isn't, *right now* sending any GC info to those leaderboards/achievements. This *may* just be an iOS8 thingy, it might just be not showing up because the game's not 'officially' out. Or it might be entirely a bug on my end, and if it is, I'm really sorry about it and I'll try and fix it. I'll be waiting with baited breath for release to see where the issue lies, and will work at fixing it as soon as I can (though I will be out on the town on Saturday 27th - full disclosure there!). Anyway, hopefully it's not an issue! But if it is, I will try and fix it! Thanks again all! I'm a bit overwhelmed! :O QS =D
What the hell happened, QS? Both 1bit Run and Infinite were fantastic! :/ I kid. *gets shot in the face by sheep turds* Why am I always late to the sheepy parties? It seems everything that needs covering has already been covered...so instead of posting impressions, I may as well tell a little story: Alright, so I woke up this morning and found a little surprise in my inbox, instantly started to hop all over the place (while holding in a night's worth of urine [yes, QS is already aware of this]), took care of that, came back...only to have to leave for work. Before that, however, I fired up SOS once and couldn't resist sending my dear sheep a private message telling him that playing a single round (and dying) was enough for me to know that yet again...sheesh....can Mr. Sheepypants do no wrong? I left for work and once I came back home, I finally had a chance to take SOS out for a spin...and that was 2 hours ago. I haven't been able to put this frickin' game down. Just when I say "Okay, you died", an instant later I'm like "BUT I NEED 2 MORE ______ TO UNLOCK ________!" Nothing has changed since I first played 1bit Run years ago. That unlock system. Man, I can't get enough of it! QS knows how to grab you by the throat and keep you playing his amazing little games. I meant it in the Infinite thread when I said this dude makes some of the best games on the planet. They're simple, but the execution is near flawless and they're just so bloody fun to play. Top that, with...YET AGAIN....some of the best music in video game history and a sprinkle (heh, more like a dinosaur-sized helping ) of that QS love and charm and you've got a game that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face every single time you fire it up. So yeah...I agree with everything the dudes above me have said (seriously, it's pointless for me to say "The controls are great", "There's a ton to do", etc. etc. etc. when a handful of TA's most respected forum dwellers (what's that from? ) are already telling you) and wholeheartedly recommend that if you're checking out this thread, please show Quantum Sheep some love on Thursday and check this little bad boy out.
Nobody knows... But there's a reason he's a bad guy. Maybe that's it? Or the lack of opposable thumbs? Don't ask me, man, I just work here QS =D (also - ty for your entertaining posts and PMs - they always make me smile, and sometimes guffaw )
MC, I think that yoll agree with me when I say, that with the absence of a certain llama-based developer in the app store (you know who I mean) is so nice to have these steaming hot nuggets of fun from TeamSheep coming our way still. Thanks for not giving up on us QS!
