Hello there. I'm very excited at the prospect of getting hold of a new QS game fairly soon. Is this the Fuel Supply game I've heard you mention or is that something else? It's also nice to know that you're having fun making the game. I like seeing how something made for a game jam with strict deadlines as you mentioned can be polished up and released as a quality iOS title. A couple of my favourite games this year were games developed for jams, Duke Dashington and Jack B. Nimble are 2 off the top of my head. Honestly I've not played much of anything lately including SOS, but rest assured I will get back to attempting to beat the game with one life soon enough. We have plenty of good and sheepy times ahead with SOS, thanks again for taking the time to make this game as good as it is.
Another member of the "haven't played much of anything" club reporting for duty! I really like that screenie QS, the visual style is very cool. I sense something Shmup-y, is that correct?
Hello lovelies! I bet you're all looking forward to the weekend, eh? Well, before you all get into your private jets and fly away to sunnier climes, I thought I'd respond to you all from my muddy field! I'm excited too - it' a 2D twist on a 3D idea - and as far as I know (and I'm nearly always wrong on this kind of stuff) it hasn't been done before. This doesn't mean it's huge or epic (It will have been made in just 2 weeks! Eek!) but it's simple, and I do think it *is* fun. Current plan is for 100 levels (maybe!) and I already have six ships in, some colour variations, and sourced some perfect and appropriate music. I can't stop humming it! Again, as with most of my games, if you 'get it' you'll probably love it But no - it's not Fuel Supply. The abbreviation of the two words for the game name are 'DS' - I'll let you speculate as to the title (but you have less than a week to try and guess!). It's fantastic to work under such deadlines. Seriously, it makes you think a little bit smarter, and helps focus your attention. The text adventure games I wrote several years ago were also for a competition. It had very strict restrictions, and working within those was a challenge. But again, keeping focus was the benefit When I was making SOS, I was ready to take a long, long break before I made my next game. It really did take a lot out of me But, with that in mind, I tried to put as much stuff in as possible, with multiple ways of playing it (i.e. high scores, most sheep rescued, multiple endings, loads of unlocks etc). I wanted to keep people busy for a while I'm shocked, sir! SHOCKED! :O Thanks - I'm awful at art so hunted around for some cool 8bit pixel art (as I love that style) - a kind soul on Twitter said "I love what you're doing with those extra 7 bits" - which I thought was lovely It's not shmup-y at all. I'm as surprised as you are, honest! It *is* a portrait mode game, just for you! I have been pondering how people will play it on an iPad, and I *could* try and make it landscape mode *as well* - but that's like making the game twice over, and the competition deadline won't give me time to do that. Anyway, I'd best get back to it - it's going to be a manic and busy weekend working on this! QS =D
Just been so busy with work and half-term but this thread and the hope of a new QS game so quick is music to my ears. Have a great weekend, all.
Yeah, I'd never heard of it to be honest, my daughter traded some games in hoping to get enough for super smash brothers, as they were mostly wii games I wasn't expecting her have enough, anyway she ended up getting £48 so had £14 left, she'd asked the owner if she could put it towards garden warfare and pay the rest once she's saved, he does this often for her but this time he told her she could take the pre owned copy for £14 instead of the £21 it was priced at. My daughter says it's like Call Of Duty style idea but more child friendly,
I love that you and your daughter play games together - that's awesome (and, like any good human should, she makes you watch Doctor Who) Does she play iOS games too? Or is she more at home with a physical controller? QS =D
She plays ios games a lot too, she has her own ipad but shares my iTunes account, here's where she sounds spoilt, she has a wii, wiiu, xbox360, ipad, psp and 3dsxland she plays mostly ios or Xbox, she loves PC gaming too but my laptop isn't too great at running them so she is saving up to buy a PC. She could hold a controller before she could hold a pen lol. She'd really like an oculus rift but shell have to wait til we win the lottery first haha. I know she sounds ridiculously spoilt but most of it has been Xmas gifts over the last four or five years and the ipad was a pre owned one we managed to save and buy her for doing really well at school and being well behaved. I sometimes worry that she is going to turn into an utter nightmare in the teenage years as she's been such a good kid.
Firstly, I'm not a parent, so I have no advice/knowledge/experience with kids! But it seems that while she has a bunch of (VERY COOL) devices, you're encouraging her to appreciate the value of money. Saving up for a PC for example - that's no small task! Also, I'd never begrudge anyone gaining a wide array of gaming knowledge! When *I* was a kid we only owned one system at a time. The others we'd play at friends' houses! But I've played literally *thousands* of games while I've been alive, and I'm forever grateful that the Fathersheep was/still is just a big kid at heart! Isn't that every kid's job? Hope you have a fab weekend! QS =D

Here, get in Sheepy, my friend. Let me drive you home...is that birthday cake...and...liquor in your hair?
I am just about recovering! Thanks for the Birthday wishes! Was good fun, and great to get away from a screen for a while at least Hope you all had a great weekend and are keeping well! New game *hopefully* before Xmas! *sips tea* *eats grass* Oh! I meant THIS Xmas - I'm as surprised as you! QS =D
New game! Hello all, hope you had a great weekend! Well, I was a very silly sheepy and dived straight into making a quick new game (as shown in previous screenshots in this thread!). I finished it and sent it to Apple on Friday, so it's done! Yay! It's called 'Docking Sequence', and it looks like this: I'll make a new thread about it on these boards soon (I took the weekend off!) so will give more details about it then! I still have an update to do for SOS - the 1 errant achievement and the iOS8 no screen rotation issues - they've been fixed!. Hope you're all well - sorry not been on here, been v. v. busy! As you can tell in-between tea drinking on Twitter Speak soon! *sheepyhugs* QS =D
Even though I don't really understand what's going on here, I'm super excited for this. It looks really cool, whatever it is. I'll definitely pick it up day one. Yay portrait mode!
You guys are very kind! Thank you I hope so - it's why I submitted it so early - I'd like to be able to say I've made TWO games this year :O Don't worry, I have no idea what's going on either! And yes, Portrait mode, just for you YAY! I want to make a new thread RIGHT NOW but need to make a video first. I have some ideas... Hmmm... QS =D
Wow I love to see all this love for an independent developer. And I Need to buy SOS as well as Docking Sequence (soon as it drops). Holidays really do make the wallet empty. Hopefully next Wednesday when I get paid. Setting a reminder this time! Happy Holidays Quantum Sheep.
