Quickly working my way to the end of the game. I'm now in the 80's (84 at the moment) and progressing nicely.

I now have all the colors & songs unlocked, so 100% done on collecting stuff (as far as I know).

Great game. Given this week isn't very good for launches, it makes it easier to just put more time into this.

Awesome. Though, you know, once you beat level 100 you get the ending. For *that* character.

(don't worry, you don't have to play through all 100 for every character - just beat lvl 100 with one - so you could start on level 90, for example)

Thank you very much! I'm very glad you're still having fun with it and want to keep playing it!

NooooO!!!! Ok, yeah I'll have to do that with each character. I've only been putting any serious time in with the default main character but it'll give me more to do with the game.

Will the achievement for finishing the game without dying apply if you start at level 91?

Slam the Man lives up to his name once again; great score.

Edit: And 56 Waves, wowww. Slam has been inspired by the Scottish Football team who have been excellent in recent matches.

That had to be a ton of grinding unless there's a perk or something that'll allow such a score. Maybe the one for 1/4 the previous high score at start?

Heck I played from level 1 into the 30's without dying in Survival and didn't even brake a million.

I don't think so! If I recall correctly, the achievement was for the very few that really played through the whole thing without dying! :)

That's pretty damn awesome - well done Slam!

The Mothersheep's a tad disappointed with how many sheep you've saved in comparison ;)

This is an easy if less obvious one.

Firstly, you're probably right about the 1/4 high score perk being used.

But if you look in 'options' there's an option for 'Survival' Mode.

Survival Mode will double your score, but if you die you can't continue from that level :)

This was discussed at some length with the lovely people here in the 'upcoming' thread - I felt it was a decision that would benefit from the views of those that would actually play the game!

Hope that answers your questions :)

Damn!! What a session - I thought I was unbeatable then and then blew it trying to get some air on Level 69 and went through a teleporter. Christ on a bike I enjoyed that though. I actually think doing 100 might just be possible in Survival just don't know if I can do that again for a while. Fan-flipping-tastic, QS.

Man - some of those levels in the fifties and sixties are mental. When those eyeballs came back my heart sank. I was working out systems for each enemy though as there are always two levels with the same enemies etc.

Agree on Scotland too - I'd love my kidz to see Scotland get a major championship while they're still kidz. 'Mon Scotland.

Yeah, I understand the survival mode deal. I was saying even in survival mode and playing the first 30 levels I didn't break a million. I'm not going for highscores again till I finish the game off at least once. I think I'm more apt to go for finishing levels back to back. That seems like a better overall competition.

I beat 48 Waves, lost concentration on Wave 49 for a few seconds and had my ass handed to me. It's bloody hard!

Welcome back cloudpuff! Hope your vacation was fun. I don't know how you stayed away from your iPad for so long!

Just unlocked Living Colour. Sweetness! I've only got the collect x amount of air left. Once I collect the amount that's displayed will I have all the air unlocks or is that just for the next item?

Another question, what's everyone's favorite character to play with? I beat it with The Connector and have started using Brian. I like his weapon and movement. There are a lot of characters that use the thin, long laser beam. Do they all have the same effect? Oh, and hello QS!

Sounds like you know what you're doing! When it gets tough, you really need to concentrate though!

    See what I mean? ;)

Another factor could be how quickly you grab a sheepy to put in the ship. You'll notice each sheep has its own air supply that gradually goes down if they're stood still (they hold their breath if you carry them ;))

The Sheep's air supply sets the score multiplier when it's delivered to the rocket, until the next sheep appears.

If you shoot an alien and you've just delivered a sheep with 1 unit of air to your rocket, you will score 10 points.

If you shoot an alien and you've just delivered a sheep with a full air supply to your rocket, you will score 100 points.

You've probably already sussed it of course, but it might help others to know that! :)

    Hello! :D

The display will always show how many things you need to get till the next unlock. The only way you know you have them all is if they all read 'complete' :)

I like Brian too, mainly because of the thing he does. You know. The thing. Keep it quiet, no spoilers! But you know. Thing. *nodding*

The different bullets do actually make small but sometimes noticeable differences. For example, small 'solid' bullets, like the Gravonaut's for example, will hit a single enemy.

Long laser bullets can hit more than one enemy if you catch them right.

The size and shape of the bullets can certainly affect your accuracy too (i.e. it's easier to hit a bad guy with a single 'block' bullet than a long thin line).

Hope that goes some way to answering your questions!

I've been playing the game myself in some 'off' time and I have to say, it still makes me laugh. The
    Flappy Bird
enemies especially - I hate that
    bird
    so much that I made
    the Clone King
the easiest boss to beat in the game ;)

Thanks for the info on the weapons QS.

I've completed all the collectables now. I do like the thing Brian does :) And the first time I saw the $&@! enemy (don't know how to do spoiler tags in the iPhone app) I got a good laugh and was actually quite surprised he was in there! Love that you made that boss easier, ha!

I really like the industrial music track (can't remember the whole name). The beginning of it reminds me of Pretty Hate Machine by Nine Inch Nails. Awesome!

I was thinking about the music and how even the really great tracks (they're all good) get repetitive after a long gaming session. It would be neat if you could have an option to shuffle tracks. Or I suppose you could just return to the menu and select a different song, but that wouldn't work in the survival mode since you can't go back to the menu. Or can you?

Anyway, what's with the ultimate mode? Is it the same as normal but with fuel instead of sheep?

RE: The music - well, you can always pause the game and change the music/colour from there ;)

And yes, even in survival mode, you can go back to the main menu to change things if you like then continue on your merry way!

Ultimate mode is my mega homage to Jetpac - the sheep become fuel, the rocketship becomes the Jetpac one (ish!) and the platform configuration always stays the same (apart from one boss level when you play against Willy, who needs the platforms to be a certain way to work).

    :D

Almost 5am here - I will catch up with you all tomorrow. And thank you. Thank you for playing my game.

It really makes me happy hearing about your adventures with it! :)

What an amazing game And homage to jetpac !
    Quantum Sheep, Well done! :)
I rarely comment in this forum (I should do more) but enjoy reading it.

Your game is probably the one I played the most on a mobile device. I loved the way you had to keep playing for unlocking new perks/colors/character/music.
And the fact you don't get the spectrum Colour until right at the end is both cruel and genius! ;)

In fact I am certain I did not spend as much time playing the original as I played yours!

A really big thank you for making such a lovely crafted game. I am looking forward to your future ones! (Hooo... You were not a fan of a game called moon patrol by any chance? I think it was called like that... Probably the same guy as in jetpac but in a buggy and scrolling horizontaly... That would be great to do a similar loving modern interpretation as you did with jetpac!)

Almost forgot, sorry if you have answered that already in this 3 millions page long thread, what does the radar do??

    Bugsland.
    Fan++;

PS: I am never interested in high score but with your game and game center I though I would have a go... After what felt hours of play (might have been!) I wanted to sleep and when I past my first million I was happy to die... Played a bit dangerously... And then somehow I was at 1.5million.... A bit longer then.... 2 millions?? Doh!! I died at something like 1.94 million!! Just when I really wanted not to die and was starting to concentrate!! Gutted!! ;)
    I pity the fool...

Thank you, that's very kind! :D

Wow, thank you! I'm glad you like the unlock system. Enjoy it while you can, it'll all be free to play soon and you'll have to pay for every unlock*

You have to earn everything in the game, and I wanted people to be really happy when they unlocked the final 'whatever' - I'm a big fan of the last music track and the last colour - I hope by the time you get those, you'll want to play it even more :)

Well, you did have to wait five minutes for a game to load back in those days, so it's not really a fair comparison ;)

I am a BIG Moon Patrol fan. So much so, that I was planning on putting something similar into another Air Supply game as a mini-game (a bit like the space section in SOS).

I don't know when/if that will happen as it's just me making this stuff, and I have a big list of games I'd like to make.

I'd like to make some smaller games first - SOS took me nearly a year to make (and on and off about 4 years!).

But yes, I think we think alike! I'm looking to the future, but also giving the past legends a few sheepyhugs too :D

The radar will jam your radar!

If you notice, when it lands it says 'Jammed' under the pause button.

Normally, the arrows on the left and right of the screen show you where the enemy is coming from.

These arrows are turned off when the radar dish jams you!

I think that's great! I put as much as I could into the game and 'spaced it out' so that even late on you'd be unlocking some cool stuff.

Hopefully the Game Center stuff (including the achievements of course!) will have you playing it for a long time!

Thanks for taking the time to write all that - it was really lovely to read :)

I also realised that it's been almost a month since the game came out. I know that some people were waiting for the GC stuff to go in, but still, to be able to come here and see people are still interested/enjoying the game is awesome!

    Thanks so much everyone!

    QS =D

Speaking of Jammed radar, it would be cool if some (graphical) raspberry jam oozed down the edge of the screen during this. So yeah a Spaceballs reference. But how awesome would that be!

This is the kind of very silly but fun idea I love! :D

EDIT: Oh, and I should add that if you'd like to leave a review (or even just a rating!) that would really be lovely as Apple 'resets' the previous ones when a new version is out! Thank you :D

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

    Hey, no worries!

The weekend was quiet - watched Doctor Who and prototyped a few game ideas - so, overall, 'fun' :D

Hope you lot had a good one too!
