Yeah lots of good one liners in those movies. I think my favorite of the Arnold movies of that time outside of Teminator 2 would be True Lies. I can still go back and watch that movie and it not feel excessively cheesy.

Played some more 1bit Run this morning. I jumped up a few ranks but still respectably far from the top. It's kind of strange, I see 1bit Run as the game I'd play if I had a few min, Infinite if I have more time but thanks to the breaks between levels I think SOS is the perfect blend.

    Edit:

Spoke too soon. Now I'm 11th on green and 46th overall on 1bit Run. Really this has been all I've played today in my limited time. Gonna keep chipping away at this while I wait for  to get the update approved. And to think Runners aren't my favorite genre.

I did get a chuckle at your edit :)

Thanks for the kind words! Glad you're enjoying the games - they say 'hi' :)

Considering Runners aren't a favorite genre, its cool to find not one but two exceptional enough from the same dev to get my limited game time.

I couldn't resist SOS tonight though and played the first level again (and just the first level). I ignored the sheep for the most part and just flew around shooting the aliens and gathering O2, Stars and reading the blurbs by the occasional smart bomb. The first one I saw was from the ole Hal 9000.

Playing SOS again, I can't help but get a little excited like the old Atari 2600 days when on Christmas we'd have a small stack of new games to play. Except this is so much better! It's such a fantastic well thought out game. Hopefully this week we'll get GC working and I can devour this little masterpiece.

I want to give everyone that jumped in this thread and made it clear this was a game not to miss a big thumbs up. It's amazing how quickly a dev can go from off the radar to the short list of my favorites on iOS. Sort of like Gelato Games a few weeks back with Goblin Sword. And their other game is pretty great as well.

    *blush*

    Wait, WHAT???

    The Mothersheep is not amused!

    ;)

This is lovely to read. Seriously and honestly.

I am checking iTunes every day (several times a day if I'm honest) to see if there's any change from 'In Review'. It really is like watching a kettle boil (more so because Apple usually sends me an email when the state of the game has changed).

Waiting is incredibly frustrating for me. I'm a bit of a control freak, so not having ANY control is a nightmare for me! :D

The people at the start are the 'Sheepy Support Group' in my eyes - they are incredibly kind and supportive and just 'get it'.

    *sheepyhugs*

I like to assume they're a lot smarter than me as well, so if I was making awful and terrible games they'd soon see through my woolly veneer!

Thank you, that's most kind :)

    *curtsies*

Modesty will never allow me to sit back and say 'Ok Sheepy, you make good games'.

I think constantly being on edge about the quality of my games will help me improve. Which is great for me, and in the end, I hope, for you guys :D

I think the secret, for me at least, is to try and live up to a good set of principles and to basically have some empathy and treat people like *shock horror* people.

Also, it's nice to see Gelato Games getting a shout out - I got their game recently and I'm enjoying it. And a fellow Greek to boot! :D

I'd also like to mention Sean Noonan who made Jack B. Nimble. That's a wonderfully charming game too, which I'm very much enjoying.

It's lovely to see a climate of support and encouragement on these boards. I'd have never heard of Gelato or Sean otherwise. Which is just awesome, isn't it?

Thank you nightc1, and thank you everyone here - you're lovely! :)

Just popping in quickly to say that I'm still reading every word that's written here; I will try to post something a little more substantial later. I just got back from a job interview, I was as nervous as heck but I think it went pretty well.

I realise this might not be the place to talk about such things but I do feel quite comfortable in this most sheepy of threads. :)

exactly the same here. Reading each and every word but just so damn busy. Hope you get the job, Andy. I'm almost uninterviewable now.
Can't wait for the update to hit. Been playing .matrixx while I've been waiting (and Goblin Sword). I'm trying to top your hi-score, QS, on .matrixx but just can't get much over 100k
    before dying.

    Hello lovelies :D

I really hope you get it! Fingers, toes and eyes crossed for you :D

I'm very happy you're enjoying .Matrixx - it's one of my fave games I've made - seriously, just using relative touch to move feels so lovely on an iPad :)

It's also been one of my least successful games alas - but about 1500 people have played it on the Mac (it's free on the Mac Appstore). So that's cool, but I really think its home is on an iPad!

    Keep trying ;)

    yay! :D

    Hello again!

Lots of chatting today, eh? But I bring good news :)

I *just* found out that the update has PASSED review and will be available in the next 24 hours!

    Hurrah!

    Thank you Apple Overlords! :D

I did suggest caution before downloading, but thinking about it, you *should* be ok.

Last time I tried to update Infinite's GC stuff it broke the game. If this happens with this update (I really hope it doesn't!) then just turn off GC on the options menu and you'll be fine till I fix things.

HOPEFULLY it'll all be ok, but you can never be 100% sure till you have it in your paws!

So, good news I hope! I'll update again when I've actually tried it 'Live' on my phone (because you know I won't sleep till I have!)

    *does a hopeful sheepy dance*

Awesome. So the update will hit sometime in the next 20'something hours. :D

Needless to say I'm updating straight away since I've been waiting waiting to devour this until GC works... so if it doesn't work it's not like it changes anything. If it does work then it's game time :)

What is this .Matrixx game? Is it iPad only or something?

EDIT: Nevermind, I searched the boards and I see it's iPad only.

    It's ok! It's back now!

*hugs Internet* Let's never fight again! :D

    Yep! *fingers crossed*

    \o/

Yep, it's iPad only, but I *have* tried it on a phone and I was very surprised to see that it kinda works well on one of those too!

So the plan, if the update is cool, is:

Port SOS and the original Air Supply to Mac
    Make .Matrixx universal
    Continue with Fuel Supply
    Continue with the text adventure
Make Project STARS (which is unlike anything I've made before. In fact, I'm not even sure how it's supposed to play!)

I'm going to be a busy sheepy :O

    *waits for the update*

*Sheepy sits down and starts singing about Gold*

Oooo! The text adventure sounds exiting! I can't even imagine how unique that will be, given your game design style. Gonna have to check out this .Matrixx game you guys have been talking about too. Also first time I've heard of your Fuel Supply game. You ARE a busy sheepy!

The text adventure is a port of one I wrote SIX years ago now :O

It's called 'Main Course' and 'Brian' from SOS is referenced in it (all one big sheepy universe, remember? :D)

It was written for a competition with very strict restrictions, so it's only about 10 minutes long (and the main reason it'll be free!).

Despite it being old and short (eyes widen as he looks in the mirror) it still makes me laugh after all these years.

Let's put it this way - if you enjoy the description text for the planets/characters/aliens in the Air Supply games, you'll like it ;)

The update is half way here - I can feel it! Looking at the app store entry for SOS on my phone shows it in a state of flux - the review/ratings only show for the original version, and it's called version 3.4 (which is the new one).

But you can't download the update yet!

    So it's on its way.

I really bloody hope it works :O

    QS =D

EDIT: I should add that if you have a Mac, you can play .Matrixx completely free of charge :D

Ladies and gentlemen, Game Center is GO :D

I had a very good giggle when I started playing - the achievements just kept on coming as I was playing - catching up to what I'd already done!

Brilliant - was grinning ear to ear! :D

Again, sincere apologies for the hassle and the wait - but go play now!

Go! Run! Be free my pretties!

    :D :D :D

Same here, I was cheering as each achievement popped up (36 of the buggers). :D There are a few that didn't unlock that I know l've completed but I'm not bothered by that. More importantly, my score got uploaded! \o/
