Not seen the review yet, but regardless of what it says, thank you (and everyone else) for taking the time to write one - that's v. lovely Of course, I'm going to nag you to write them all over again when the update hits! (sorry!) Still no word on that btw - I mean, it went into Review hours ago - usually that means it'll be out soon. I hope it passes ok - the longer wait times these days between submitting and getting reviewed and getting released are really painful :O I'm having lots of soup, and drinking lots of tea and munching Strepsils while in bed! Hopefully be better soon! Thanks for the well wishes! Will stay up a while longer and hope the update passes/works - will update soon as I can! Thanks! Also, wrap up warm! QS =D Edit: Also, just saw this on Twitter and it made me giggle lots - thought you might like it!
That's a super funny comic! If only we all had jetpacks... Doing a bit better. This is also my third or fourth day of deteriorating. My energy isn't bad, but I'm afraid of passing it on to the folks at work. So I nobly took a sick day and have been playing Super Smash Bros. I'm a straight up saint.
I love it - and technically, if you have the game, you DO have a jetpack! \o/ What a noble sacrifice! An example to us all! Update update: It's still 'In Review'. I am going to stop refreshing the iTunes page and go offline for a bit. Luckily, I *think* I should get an email when it goes live, and I can still get that on my phone. So if I'm still awake and there's an update update I will come on and let you know! Cheers! QS =D *Also - I really love how absurd 'update update' is
Wow. I just saw that Air Supply Infinite is now featured in the Fun Runners category on the front page. I keep hearing about the other two games. I only see one other (is one iPhone only)?
I haven't installed them on my iPad, just my phone, so I can't say for sure, but...I looked up Air Supply - 1bit Run on the App Store and the description says that it's compatible with iPad. However, there is no "+" next to the price. Did you try selecting "iPhone only" in the App Store?
Yep, that happened back in May I believe. I honestly think it was down to you guys on the forum getting it some attention - thank you (It was also a complete surprise, which I thought was a con/joke at first!) And you're right, the original Air Supply - 1bit Run is iPhone only I'm afraid. It *is* compatible with iPad because, well, it just is It's not a universal build though, unlike the later Air Supply games! An update update: There is no update to the update. Still 'In Review' QS =D
Hey all, hope you're well! Still nothing to report update wise "So why are you reporting there's nothing to report, Sheepy?" Well, it could always be 'rejected' as an update I suppose. But that hasn't happened yet, it's just taking its time right now - still 'In Review'. Thanks for your patience everyone Oh! And I like your shoes! Very nice! *nods* QS =D
Seems several developers are experiencing similar delays from "The Man". Don't fret Sheepy, we're very content with just PLAYING SOS, for now. I know for a fact you're doing everything on your end to ensure we get every bell and whistle possible and for that kind sheep I thank you much...*shakes Sheepy's hoof, carefully hands err..hooves him a mug of tea*
Tea! \o/ Thank you - it's the 'not knowing' part that kills me - if I was confident it would 100% work I'd be fine - but I don't know that, whether it be my fault or somebody else's! So I wait. And I chew my hoof nails. Or something :O QS =D
My review is on the App Store. Yay! And mister sheep, don't fret, you've put a lot of work in. I'm sure it will pay off. Now get some sleep!
Sleep? It's 5:36pm here *seriously considers a nap* And ty for the review! Much appreciated, honestly. I noticed in the US that a couple of people actually gave it a 1 star rating. I'm not sure how to react to that as they gave no info as to why they didn't like it :O I'm glad you guys are enjoying it still, and I am going a little crazy waiting for news on this update! Hurry up, dev! Oh, wait. That's me :O QS =D
I know our Cloudy P is away on holiday; I hope wherever she is she's having a lovely birthday. Hopefully the update will be live before her next one. *runs*
Cheeky! :O Truth be told, my gmail is playing up so I'm not getting notifications in general, and this thread in particular! I usually get notifications, and if I'm up and near the laptop I'll try and respond. So apologies if I'm a little tardy replying! This gmail ineffectuality is making me paranoid about the update - so I keep refreshing iTunes connect to see if it's live yet. No dice so far! Sorry! QS =D
I saw this on the US store too. You just have to consider the source, probably some young kid who bought SOS on his mommy's iPad and hasn't any idea what he has in his grubby little paws. There will ALWAYS be detractors, it's part of the game. Most won't even notice this. If I were a dev I'm sure I'd be the same way---impatient wit Apples slowness
Well, I hope not to disappoint anyone, but I know it's inevitable. I just wish I could have a conversation with them, or at least get some feedback! I always make games I want to make, but here's the thing - I like getting feedback from people. On Infinite, for example, people using it on iPad found it tiring because it was in portrait mode. I *designed* it with portrait mode in mind - playing it one handed on a phone while standing on a train was what was in my head! But I totally didn't think of how iPad players would react/play the game. So now it's something I certainly *do* think about on future games! Other stuff has been discussed here, and in the 'upcoming' thread before, and taken into account - because it's all useful stuff and I really don't have all the answers to everything! Getting outside opinions helps! Other stuff I *will* think about, but will make an 'executive decision' and not change something because, having heard the argument or reasoning, I personally think it wouldn't suit/fit the game for some reason. So overall it's always useful to hear what others say, even if it's not all gushing and lovely (I like to hear that stuff too though!). A 1 star ranking with no context tells me absolutely nothing. Which is what makes it a bit frustrating! QS =D
Hehe, just saw that comment with the jetpack comic I unlocked myself early last week, and I agree with Carter, I'm the best I'm still blown away by how cool it is to be in a video game that was featured by Apple. Thanks QS, you've made my year!
Still waiting on the update :| I jest It's life and I'm not bothered by it in any negative way. Well but yeah I'm still waiting which means I haven't given up and am greatly looking forward to this getting the GC kinks hopefully worked out. As for a bad rating, it makes perfect sense. The game has GC and it doesn't work. It sucks buying a game where what you consider as a major feature is broken. But the update will wipe out the ratings and sort of start them back fresh. So that'll be good for the game. That's part of why I didn't think it was the right time to really push the game. It needs to work near flawlessly if you want the positive feedback to do good. Definitely a lesson learned for the next game since the AppStore is often what's hot at the moment and the playing field changes week to week with new releases. I know often its approached like a PC game and its get the release out and then patch patch patch to make it work right for most people. But I think that's a bad way to go similar to the shareware concept not really paying off compared to just a flat price with no free offers.
This gives me a great opportunity to say a thing or two about that! You guys have been so lovely about Spaceman Sam and friends for almost a year now. For the last 9 months or more, you have been so kind and supportive and encouraging. It really made an impression on me, and helped keep me going through a really tough year. I've said it time and time again, that you guys are so awesome, and that I really appreciate you all! Part of me worried that after writing 'thank you' so many times, you might start to think it's insincere or not heartfelt. So I wanted to *do* something. I make games. What can a little sheepy do? Maybe I can put some of these people in my game, as a thank you!? So that started the idea off. I was going to name planets or aliens or *something* after you - but then I thought 'Why not make more characters?' I'm really glad I did. I can only imagine your little faces when you saw what I'd done, just as you can only imagine the huge grin on my face putting you in there! Andy was the first, and the easiest. His just *looks* like an Andy (in the nicest way possible!). The others were a bit harder. I did fish in the 'upcoming' thread for clues - I saw Slamraman bite when I asked about the Commodore 64 for example. Putting you in was fun, but hard work too - you all needed spaceships after all as well! I think it's one of the most amazing things that I can come here and talk directly to lovely people that will give my games a chance and just be so awesome. And that I hope you can tell how much it means to me not just through my words, but also my actions too! Thank you all! *sheepyhugs* QS =D
Thank you for your patience! Believe me when I say I didn't plan for GC to not work - I was more gutted than anyone as I wouldn't be in this stressful position if it worked out the gate! Seriously, this bit isn't much fun! As to the rankings, you could be very right about the GC stuff affecting it negatively. But the way in which reviewers have been generally positive, as well as 'people in general', *despite* the lack of this feature was a lovely surprise. I was expecting a wall of negativity, but people have been very kind and understanding. Thank you for that QS =D
