Aha! The old 'squash ball under the armpit' trick! (a Sherlock reference there!) I'll post a teaser screenshot up tomorrow (it'll just be the title... exciting, eh?). If it's alright with everyone, I'll use this thread to keep you up to date with general Air Supply updates until I get an SOS thread going! Hope you all have a great weekend! QS =D
SOS title sneak peek Hey all, hope you had a good weekend! Been working on SOS this weekend, and while I'm not ready to reveal much, here's a quick look at the work in progress title screen. It'll change, and you're only seeing half of it. Mainly because I think that even a title screen can be a nice surprise for some! Speak soon! QS =D
Boom! Game Center actually worked for me this time, so you can see my nice new 34,277 on the leaderboard. Unfortunately, I couldn't pull out the extra 1,015m to take #1. Also, I left an actual review up for you on iTunes. Hope work on SOS is going well. I can't wait to play it!
Gratz on the score, and thank you for the review! It's much appreciated! I was chatting with the people I've asked to look at the crash bug, and they said they couldn't replicate it. Trying it out again for myself on my iPhone 5s, everything seemed to run fine. To be clear, I haven't done anything new to the game, and it's not 100%, but it's certainly crashing less from what I can tell. Can anyone confirm if this is accurate or not? The only thing I can think of that might have affected it is if iOS7 itself got a patch since last I looked at it, but I can't remember if it did or not! Haha! Indeed! I'm working hard on the front-end presentation stuff, as there's a lot of artwork that needs to get sorted, and I hope UK retro gamers will get a buzz out of it all I am planning on adding something to the gameplay itself that will hopefully delight a few people in this thread! I'll post another WIP on Saturday - there's this hashtag on Twitter where people post WIP shots called #screenshotsaturday - it's a great way of keeping people up to date with teasers of upcoming games and I really enjoy taking part in it! Not everyone has Twitter though, so i'll post it here for you guys too! Cheers! QS =D
I do actually feel like it's crashing less, but there hasn't been an iOS update that I know of since I bought the game. I still crashed once yesterday (info screen makes things explode), but the bug where I get stuck on the screen seems to be fixing itself almost every time (I'll get stuck up top, then after a couple of seconds it just starts again).
It's a bit weird, for sure. I'll keep pressing and see what I can do! I'm glad the 'stuck' bug has been lessened though - a very tough one to crack that one, so I'm not going to say it's 100% fixed, but it seems to be a lot better! While I'm here, there's another lovely review for my game on touchmyapps, but I can't seem to link to it! Regardless, this kind of stuff just makes me feel very happy! QS =D
I did a little sheepy dance when I saw these! I'm glad, and it's true! I had quite a few distractions this evening, so rather than try and slog on with SOS for the night, I thought I'd do something different! I came up with this: https://vine.co/v/hlzYPIJX1wm Just a little experiment. Add it to the list of games yet to be made! QS =D
Thanks! The 'borrowed graphics' are specifically the main character When you're just trying stuff out, it's good to 'borrow' so that you get a feel for stuff! I already have a few ideas in my head, but I have a LOT to do before I look at this seriously. It'll probably be after SOS, fingers crossed! I've always wanted to do a Space Harrier game, as I love the original. The trick is to make it different to the inspiration so that the game stands on its own two feet. I've played Space Harrier 2 on iOS and my immediate thoughts were: The controls are a bit clunky. The screen is a bit small. I've already addressed these (I hope) by having the game be full-screen, and by using relative touch and auto-fire for controls. It 'feels' very nice, even though this is just one evening's mucking about! I'm looking forward to coming back to it and adding some sheepy magic to it all! Firstly though I have to finish updating all my iOS games and port a few to Tizen. This should take me up to the end of the month, and then it's full on back on SOS. Which is why I didn't post the SOS screenshot as promised! Sorry! I'll do my best to get you one by next week! Cheers! QS =D
First Air Supply updated! Hey all, hope you're well! I've been a busy little sheepy, and I'm happy to say that I've submitted an ios7 update to Apple for the original Air Supply Hopefully it'll go through ok within the next few days! To celebrate, here's something I *wish* were real: Fun, eh? I'm in the process this evening of finally sending off all my old apps to Apple for ios7 updates. There may be casualties. I have no way of updating my graphics to Retina size on games that were around before that was important This may affect: Attack of the Kraken (iPhone) .Matrixx (iPad) Gravitrixx (iPad) Sunshine (iPad) I'll have to wait and see :O I also submitted four apps to the Tizen store (which is for other devices). So I've been busy! I really am looking forward to getting back onto SOS now I've done some housekeeping! Speak soon! QS =D
*taps glass* Anyone there? Just a quick heads-up to say that original Air Supply is now available for download - it'll now fill up the whole screen on your lovely long phones Also, here's something from SOS: Perks! It's an Air Supply game, so you can expect the usual diminishing air, and collecting things to unlock colours, characters, music etc... But it needs something more, right? Perks are unlocked the more sheep you save. And they modify the game! In the examples you can see, your ship's cargo is increased by two, and any shields you get will last twice as long as normal. The (hopefully) fun part is that as you progress, new perks become available. But you can only choose one from each side of the screen. The impetus then is to choose the ones that you think will help you the most I feel like I should make an SOS thread, but I don't want to reveal what the game is just yet.... hmmmm... Anyway, hope you're all well and having fun! QS =D
Still my favourite thread and downloading the original Air Supply (again) this very second. Looking forward to SOS - badly.
Feeling guilty that I haven't played much Air Supply - Infinite of late. Regardless, it'll be on my device long after I've removed games like Rayman Fiesta Run and Bit.Trip Runner. Just sayin'. Thank you for the SOS info, we wants it. Gonna play Air Supply now.
Hi QS - I downloaded Air Supply 1-bit run (again), this time on my 5th gen iPod. Very nice - I'll publicise it in the usual place.
