We're always exploring different pricing models to suit our players' preferences. Could you share what kind of pricing model you would prefer? Your feedback is crucial as we consider future updates and options. Thanks again psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,927 688 113 England #6 psj3809, Sep 19, 2024 at 11:45 AM I’m fine myself paying for premium apps whether that’s £5.99 or £9.99 or more if the game is good I personally prefer the way apps can be unlocked. So you can try before you buy. Play the first chapter or so and then pay a one off IAP for the rest of the game granted Apple Arcade is monthly but you get 120+ games. Think it’s not great when a single app has a high monthly subscription then again maybe you have high sales and I’m wrong completely ! But I do notice all your apps have a high monthly subscription which is very rare. Most companies are either freemium or you pay to buy the app. Rare that every game is a monthly subscription ste86uk, elcrazy and paulvu like this. paulvu Member Sunday 7 1 1 Male #7 paulvu, Sep 19, 2024 at 11:55 AM Hi @psj3809 Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback and for sharing your preferences on pricing models. It's great to hear that you're open to paying for premium apps, and your suggestion about a "try before you buy" model is very insightful. We're actually planning to implement a version where users can enjoy the first chapter for free before deciding whether to subscribe for further content. This change aims to provide transparency and value, ensuring players like you feel more comfortable with their purchase. Regarding the subscription model, the nature of our apps—especially with the intensive AI-driven content creation—necessitates ongoing operational costs, which is why we've leaned towards subscriptions. However, we're continuously evaluating how to balance this while offering the best value and experience to our users. Thanks again for your feedback. It's incredibly valuable to us as we strive to improve our games and meet the needs of our players. Keep an eye out for the upcoming update, and I hope it enhances your experience with our app! ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,725 974 113 #8 ste86uk, Sep 19, 2024 at 1:44 PM I agree on the pricing models, I prefer premium also but my absolute favourite is try before you buy so you can play it and then pay to unlock the full game if you like it. It leads to me trying and buying games that I otherwise may not have checked out if it was 4.99 and I wasn’t that interested in it. But for free I’ll try and that can lead to a purchase id of not made otherwise. Although don’t fall for the free to try and a purchase to remove ads because I felt bad for games like Dadish where I think they must have lost out on so much revenue because the ads weren’t that intrusive at all so other than wanting to support the devs most people probably just played it with ads. paulvu, psj3809 and elcrazy like this. paulvu Member Sunday 7 1 1 Male #9 paulvu, Sep 19, 2024 at 4:01 PM Thanks for the input, @ste86uk! We're updating the game to allow players to try before buying. You can play the initial part for free and then choose to unlock the full experience if you like it. This way, everyone can explore without upfront costs. Appreciate your thoughts on this! : I've already submitted this version to the App Store and am currently awaiting review. ste86uk likes this. elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 679 513 93 #10 elcrazy, Sep 19, 2024 at 4:33 PM I agree with everything here. I personally would never do any subscription on an app. I won’t even do Apple Arcade. There is just too many good games out there to pay subscriptions. I personally feel that is the worst model out there. I won’t even try games with subscriptions. Just feels off. Best model is the free to play one chapter as @psj3809 stated. Play the first level then charge anywhere from $1-$10 or more. If the game is good I don’t mind a high premium price. But I want to own the games I play. Fully premium with no trial is good too. I also do lot like games with adds. I will always pay to remove them from games I like. I don’t want to change your pay model. Maybe it’s working for you guys if all your games have that model. But I think if you want to be in the premium market, your best bet is the free to play then buy full game. Good luck with your release. All the best. ste86uk likes this. paulvu Member Sunday 7 1 1 Male #11 paulvu, Sep 19, 2024 at 5:17 PM Thank you @elcrazy so much for sharing your thoughts on pricing models. It's invaluable to hear directly from players like you who are passionate about their gaming experiences. The concept of a free-to-play first chapter with a one-time purchase option is an interesting approach that we've been considering. Do you have any specific ideas or features you’d like to see implemented with this model? Your input could be incredibly helpful as we look to refine our approach and better align with what our players want.
