Just bought this game and play the tutorial and a basic game. I think i need to follow the tutorial again lol. but overall i like it
Some people don't realise that the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies were filmed here because they coincidentally also serve as very accurate documentaries about daily life in New Zealand. "Traffic on the road at this time of day can be a pain and we still need to set up the presentation for the merger; if we just go through the old haunted mine instead, we can shave off at least twenty minutes travel time, ten if we run into a wraith."
God, Agricola is such a good game. I play it every month or so with my boardgame friends. But we played it so little that I never bothered to get good. It's so complex. And the strategies are so different from game to game. It flips upside down depending on the number of players and what you're dealt. I've earned a whole new respect for the game because of this app.
Deleted the game and redownloaded. STILL crashes to desktop(?) when I advance to the 6th turn. Since I got zero help here, I have emailed apple for asked for a refund.. shame tbh because its great fun but unplayable right now.
I don't think you were being ignored as much as nobody else here was having that issue. Hard to comment if it isn't happening to me.
That's unfortunate, but in all the feedback I've read about the game, not one other person has had described having that issue. If you contacted Playdek and they weren't able to identify the cause of the problem on their end, then it seems there's not much you can do for now other than what you just did.
I just read a review of Agricola, the app, and the reviewer claimed that it was more complex than Stone Age. Is that accurate?
They're probably at a similar level if you play Agricola's "Family Game" mode, which doesn't use any of the hundreds of Minor Improvement and Occupation cards. If you play Agricola normally, though, there's definitely a lot more to think about and take into account than there is in Stone Age, and certainly a lot more variety between each individual game you play.
Eek. Thanks for that, I think I'll steer clear. I already own 2 board games that I cannot fathom out (le Havre, Eclipse) I think I'll leave it at that.
But the tutorial does a grat job introducting you to the game. I had never, palyed before and i love it. But i also love le havre and eclipse :ad
Definitely agree. Agricola in general is at least 2-4 times as complex as Stone Age. I wouldn't recommend this to any casual gamers. The learning curve is pretty steep, and there's a ton of little mechanics that would be better learned by first playing it in person with a few people. Besides that, though, this is an AMAZING adaptation of the game.
I really enjoyed Le Havre as my first real board game experience. Though it took me a while to learn and still never really mastered it. Will this be an even steeper curve?
