That is amazing news! I'm loving this game - I'm crap at it but still, it's such good fun! I have literally no internet where I work (in the forest!) so being able to play a few rounds during tea breaks and lunch would be brilliant. Well worth the 0.99p whether there's an internet connection or not - all I would say is I think the dev(s?) are selling themselves short. Double the price and make any dlc around the same price again - I think you'll be on to a hit with enough praise and positive reviews from players. Good job!
Listen here matey mc matey mate: the original app description had no mention of required internet connectivity. Check the very photo I attach. So old mate that you're having a go at is well within bounds. So annoying when a forum goer calls a forum toxic when it's them spraying out the toxicity.
Yeah, I thought that when I first saw it. Appeared in my first game against AI. I bought and played the card. 10cp - whoop, whoop! The AI promptly played a skull card that immediately halved the highest cultural point value card. My card was suddenly only worth 5 points for the remainder of the game. I was owned. ☹️ My point is that although it is a high (not over) powered card, the counter balancing seems to be there - I'm guessing there's not many of those 10cp cards in the hand and there is likely to be an equal number, if not more, of countering cards that could be used to bring its high advantage down to a more reasonable level. You just have to have the luck of the draw and the savvy to use it at the righ time I guess.
Nothing worse that spraying toxicity everywhere - it gets in your eyes, your hair, the bedding.....have you ever tried getting it out of fabric?! # ##
Almost every card in the game seems to have extra effects triggered or based on other cards played by either you or your opponent, so it is vital to see what your opponent buying or playing as you can't simply play in a vacuum. I too found aspects of the resources a bit confusing at first. Like did you notice that a resource only gives its resource when first played, and that resource will remain in effect until that resource is destroyed? So in the game's final round, playing a used resource is dangerous as you'll only risk losing that resource. If you don't play it, your opponent can't destroy it.
Economic cards give you a resource for the rest of the game, and each resource you have provides a 1 Gold discount for any cards you buy that use that resource. Furthermore, any time your opponent buys a card that uses that resource, you gain 1 Gold (unless they also have the resource). If your econ card gets knocked out, you lose access to that resource. Having duplicate resources does not help, except as a back up in case you lose one of them. Finally, some cards provide a double discount for some resources, so if you see an icon twice (like how Leviathans show 2 Iron), then having that resource will give you a 2 Gold discount. The bottom line is that it's a good idea to try to have 3+ resources, or else it's hard to buy good cards in the last 2 rounds of the game. An easy way to do this is to play as Kubra and "guarantee" one of the mid-game Econ cards with 2 resources (like Northern Trade). Multiplayer async has not been a common request so far, but if we hear it more we'll certainly consider it. I'm not sure what you mean by screen elements, can you please give me an example? We're going to do rotatable screen for the next update! Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks for informing and glad to hear the developers are looking at how the 1p off line mode could work... I'm more interested in in now and totally understand how multiplayer and tournaments would need to be online. Thanks to the developers for thinking about the offline mode!
Thanks for the feedback. I am a generation before the CCG and kind of games. I enjoy Onrim and Solitairica and have always hoped I could get into these kinds of games but have usually been turned off bu needing to buy future IAP to get new cards or something? For .99 and the chance to get single player off line I'll likely buy this but actually don't know if I fully understand what this, collectible, deck building game differences are etc... Is this a deep and strategic game? I thought I read each game is like 10 mins?
I think each game is taking me longer than 10 min, but I haven't been timing it. I won my first game against normal AI, but then lost my first two games against Hard AI. Still trying to beat it! The first game I focused too much on war and this time I think I lost focus entirely because I just got skewered in every direction. I'm still confused how some things work -- like taxes -- and maybe need to go over the instructions again. Kind of ignoring the whole card collecting thing for now since I'm still learning the ropes. At the moment I don't understand the game deeply enough to know what I'm missing out on by not having more cards. What I don't like is that it doesn't seem to save mid-game. Unless I'm missing something?
While there is a touch CCG grinding, it handles that in a much nicer way than most. -You'll never get redundant cards. While the collection has common to super rare cards, they've worked in a nice little safety net in which you'll never get duplicates of the cards, well except character cards, and even then once a leader is fully leveled, you'll never get any more of his card. -It's very easy to earn cash for packs in-game. The biggest pay outs are from quests which get instantly replaced once you fulfill them. If you'd rather, however, you could just do a bunch of matches vs. AI or real opponents for cash (even if you lose). Also fun is that even if your initial set of unlocked cards is pretty meager, in the game's first 3 rounds half of your cards will be coming from YOUR OPPONENT'S collection anyways.
Brilliant, beautiful game guys! Strong work. I have a glitch vs intentional question. So I had one of those skull dudes with negative purple points. I let him get knocked out during war. However, I still got his negative points added to my total. Is that intentional?
Yes, intentional. Negative culture points cannot be avoided by knocking out the card, so that's something to consider when drafting such cards. I'll add this to the rulebook.
Offline Play Testers? Is anyone willing to test out an experimental version of Offline Play when we have it ready (probably next week)? If so, please email us at [email protected]. You'll have to be willing to install Apple's TestFlight app on your device to get the beta update (we will invite you via your email address). And we can give you some in-game coins as a thank you gift. Thanks!
I just completed another game vs. AI. I won, but it once again is stuck on the "Saving..." popup. Will you be able to fix this in the next update? Any suggested workaround? Seems to happen frequently.
No, I'm afraid we don't have a mid-game save currently. But you may be able to just background the app (or lock your phone) and switch back to it later and resume your game. This works on my phone some of the time. I've noticed this behavior in other games too, like when I used to play Puzzle and Dragons. It probably depends on whether or not the app gets kicked out of memory by the device. If this is a common request we can look into implementing something more reliable.
Yeah, the problem is I'm usually multitasking on my phone when I play, and backgrounding it is not reliable enough to count on it. Would be great if you could add a way to save progress. Thanks!
