Updated and the offline mode seems right. Wow! Up to US$3.99 now! Sorry to those who may be a little late...
Updated it, very happy with both screen rotation and offline play. The game is already very good, it's just that much better now! Amazing work, very quick and well communicated. Keep it up, quite like a dev like this.
Wow, price increased to £3.99 - personally, I think that's more reflective of the games true worth. An absolute steal at the kickstarted 0.99p sale price.
So, I was online and won a game. And the saving screen came up and hung and the "if this takes 10 seconds" indefinitely.
Statement: Hard AI beat me 3 times in a row, this is good. Whinning: But I still want my ture async online play.
Personally I don't see the point. Games are very quick. The developer's efforts would be better spent elsewhere. This game doesn't need async play for the same reason Hearthstone doesn't need async play, IMO.
One thing that bothers me in terms of rules/design is: why, for a knocked-out card, are negative culture points applied, but positive ones are not? I think this is a strange and unexpected behavior.
That deeked me at first, but it probably was far to easy a tactic to take on negatives and then ruin the cards to avoid the negatives.
Makes perfect sense to me. You hire an assassin. It gets killed. It's still a stain on your reputation.
Nah, there is more than enough async online games on iOS. As mkaen said we need more cards (maybe expansion), fixes and tweaks or even a new game instead of async. You can speed up animations by touching button before "menu" and I think it's enough. Now we have offline play there is no reason to wait gor iPad fullscreen ratio fix. ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Give us the fix
Response: I hear (some of) you, fine, it is not up to us to decide which comes first though Suggestion: I am serious to pay more as IAP, if async is to be developed
That's unfortunate. I was hoping I caught all the ways the network call could timeout, but I'm guessing there's some situation where I don't get notified of it. I'll see if I can reproduce this. In the meantime, if this is happening to anyone routinely, it might be best to play offline normally and then come online every once in a while to save your progress to the server. Unless you're playing multiplayer of course.
Next Update - Faster Progression In other news, I've got another update almost ready with a speedier progression: - Higher coin rewards for all game types (about 30% higher) - Coin rewards on loss for normal games and friend games and campaign games (hard games and "vs anyone" games already had this). So now at least you'll be rewarded when Lorenzo and the Prince-in-Hiding unfairly trounces you. Note that in all game types, you have to stay until the start of the final round to get a reward. It's okay to forfeit once the final round starts. And a bunch of bug fixes, including: - The game always giving you the same first 4 cards in some situations - Adding "allied" to the text of some cards for clarity - Dialogs sometimes showing up too high off screen - Better messaging of the various end-game reward tiers
Im not sure what/who is more awesome. The game or the dev. Killer game, and I don't even like Civ. My favorite part is last round, the most pure deck builder. What a game!!!
@vmyneni Have you considered doibg a kickstarter for this game as a physical deck? I know it would take soke of the fun of unlocking new cards and would have to have some work to convert it perfectly. But in the end I think this would be a great sale. My suggestion would be to go for a 250 card game, but I'm just pulling numbers here.
It's an interesting thought, and I've gotten the suggestion before. I have mixed feelings on whether it makes sense, for a number of reasons. But it would certainly be fun to try. Maybe one day...
This is a fantastic game! A question: unless I'm missing something, what's preventing this from having a pass-and-play local multiplayer option? There's no hidden information, or am I missing something? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
+1 here. A game's value = GameAwesomeness * DeveloperAwesomeness Definitely some exponential awesomeness happening here.
Yes, it could be pass and play. Steam users in particular have been asking for that feature a lot (local hot seat multiplayer). It's on the list for a future update.
