Downloading now and i'm a huge fan of tower defense since i bought Fieldrunners 1.0 a few years ago. Review: I'll do this quick because i don't have much time but i just played a couple of online and offline matches. Trough the offline mode you can practice your skills in 6 scenarios each requiring to defend OR attack. There's a limit to the waves that the enemy can send and two difficulty modes for each. In the Online mode you both defend and attack. Defense is done by creating and placing towers. You have 3 main towers that have two different modes, you can switch them on the fly. They gain levels via xp or you can use money to upgrade them directly. You gain resources by capturing nodes and placing extractor on top of them. The main goal, of course, is to defend the base but the base also levels up as you do things in the game. It serves as a tech tree where you can then unlock and/or upgrade your turrets even more. Attack is pretty straightforward. You've got 4 bases, you create units and assign them to the different bases. You then draw a path for each of those bases indicating the road that the units will follow. Visually it's great and animations are really good. The game reminds me a lot of Total Annhilation because you can buy towers without having the funds, this will cause a delay in production but helps creating a layout for your towers. All in all it's pretty great the only problem is the lack of tutorial. There's no in game explanation other than two help screen that you have to read in order to understand the game and even then there's still a lot left unexplained. This wiki should help differentiating the units and tower modes: http://wiki.ageofdefenders.com/index.php?title=Main_Page If you want a good tower defense with a real online versus mode go for it! Just be prepared because your first matches will be pretty hard as you grasp the game and try to find Anti-zerg counter measures. For 2.99 you can't really go wrong. araczynski Well-Known Member Oct 5, 2009 1,467 0 36 programmer omaha, ne #3 araczynski, Oct 10, 2011 wonder how meaty the single player campaign is, not really interested in multiplayer focused anything. I'd go for better alternatives like Anthill or Sentinel 3. kearnel Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2011 195 0 0 Swansea, UK #6 kearnel, Oct 10, 2011 everytime i goto buy this, it tells me the game is no longer available... uk app store NZer Well-Known Member Oct 22, 2009 183 0 0 I.T Tutor New Zealand #7 NZer, Oct 10, 2011 Doesnt seem to be available? killercow Well-Known Member Apr 8, 2009 3,784 3 38 https://twitter.com/killercow #8 killercow, Oct 10, 2011 That's weird I bought it when it was available, no error. It's a game that may have adequate graphics but that's where it ends, there is no tutorial apart from a poor help file. It's repetitive and basic in it's gameplay, I love TD games but not this one.
