I'm 43... My first machine was a commodore vic20. I was expecting a zx spectrum, but parents heard commodore was better :)
I had one of them orange n brown consoles with paddles that has ping n tennis ect.. On it too.
I went to a c64, c128, c128 plus, Amiga, Amiga 512 (or was it Amiga 128)... And a 286 pc... And went down road of pc from there onwards.
I had a PlayStation 1 in there too... But my brother was more console with PlayStation, GameCube, nintendo64?, Xbox, Xbox 360.
I did also own a game boy, game boy advance.
And then a DS, DSL, 3DS, 3DSXL and now have new 3DSXL along with my iPhone6.
    Started with iphone3G, iphone4, iPhone5 and got iphone6 now.
Done all sorts of gaming. My fave game that id say I played the most was Elite and microprose Grand Prix games.

Almost could be my bio!! Except I went down the Atari ST route instead of Amiga, before getting my 286 PC. And I'm "only" 40 :p

    Hey, Marlene,
I'm your age, I'm 55, and have been gaming since the beginning of time (1972, when Pong came out) and I think I love you too!! Why couldn't we have met so long ago and I would've married you!! I've tried to get my wife to play games with me or by herself even, with no success at all and, after 35 years of being married, I've come to realize she's not gonna ever be my video gaming buddy and Lord knows I've tried everything to get her interested with absolutely NO success! To think of the life WE coulda shared with our favorite hobby and had SO much fun with in that way brings a smile to my face and a warm feeling! I have spent I shudder to say literally hundreds of thousands of dollars on gaming over the years as I have had every console ever made except the Neo Geo and that other one I always forget the name of that sat on the table and everything was bright red. (It was a POS!) Also, have had every single hand-held as well, some multiple times! Never been much of a PC gamer, though. Early on, I could always be found at the arcades, and I was and still am a pinball freak! One of my early jobs was working at Golfland in the arcade, then security later, there! Lots of fond memories. After buying my first house in the 80's, I turned a spare bedroom into my own game room! Bitchen times! I had my favorite standby, Asteroids, also Captain Fantastic, Kiss, Wizards, Transformer, and Jungle King machines, also Pachinko, and a few years later after discovering Las Vegas, got me a real casino slot machine and video poker as well! All that changed a few years later when this room suddenly became a nursery, as we then had my daughter, and all my big toys went bye-bye! In those days, who woulda thought that years later even that I could have every game I ever wanted in my pocket, to play anytime I want? With no bulky software to carry around to boot!! Yes, I think these days are the best ever, and my favorite gaming toys now are my iPad, my Note 5 (Android), and my trusty Vita! I am totally involved in gaming still, am a game designer, half-ass budding developer, tester, reviewer, writer, and am a mod at a leading Android website. Yup, me love em games!

    :)
The c64/Amiga/Atari days was the best gaming times. Most new games was original n new ideas. These days, think we out of original ideas, and games are mainly reskins of old games

I too am a "mature" woman (56 also). I started gaming back in the 80s when PacMan and Missile Command and real pinball machines were around. Feeding quarters all night at the Black Oak Saloon in Larkspur, CA. But I never owned a gaming device until I got my first Android phone. Angry Birds, the gateway drug. Then I got an iPAD and Plants v. Zombies and it was all over for me, much to the chagrin of my non-gaming husband (well, he does indulge in solitaire on his laptop).
