Not this time, but hopefully I've laid the ground work for a content-based update next time - e.g. the new lighting and character animation will let me add other friendly NPCs, perhaps... In the meantime here's a sneak peak of the icon...
Hmm, I think I like the other one better. This one feels like it needs something more to it - maybe add some bullet streaks and blood spurts coming through the backs of the zombies?
Version 1.1 update is out: What's new + New more colourful lighting system. + New per-poly shadow system for detailed character shadows. + New animation system for much smoother animation and rendering of player character. + Many performance tweaks which should make Aftermath run more smoothly. + Re-arranged user interface and added new Sprint ability. + You can now throw grenades anywhere, not just _at_ enemies (tap anywhere in the world to throw). + New obstacle avoidance system - player should now slide smoothly along most walls and objects. + Fixed navigation issues which meant that sometimes enemies could not reach you. + Added pickups to some levels which were particularly hard. + Numerous other fixes and tweaks.
Anyone having problems installing the update? It wouldn't show up in the iphone app store, and when I downloaded it in the itunes app store and synced, it didn't transfer. So I deleted the game from my iphone, and it still won't transfer. I can't get it back on my iphone at all now. Is the update 4.0 only? I'm still running 3.1.3. [edit] Yeah, just figured out - it's 4.0 only. I've been avoiding updating to 4.0 because I'm on a 3G, and from what I hear 4 is more demanding of memory.
For some reason the grenades only launch behind me. It seems like a nice small update, I really hope you do more with this.
I can not understand why many developers support only the 4.0 version! I really wanted to buy this , but ...
I'm on a 2nd Gen iPod Touch and i'm running OS 4 just fine. It burns more battery while asleep, but that's it.
This is easily one of my favorite dual stick shooters, the fantastic lighting and environments create a great atmosphere for zombie killing. The story is nice and short, but it does have it's share of action. There's a nice variety of weapons and the zombies have a nice variety as well between them. It was easy and fun to control until they released the update, everything else in the update was perfect especially the icon that was wonderful. But IMO the devs have absolutely murdered the controls and in the process murdered one of my favorite games. Which is a shame as I really did enjoy Aftermath until the update came out.
Hi, I'm happy to say that I've just submitted v1.1.1 of Aftermath which fixes iPad compatibility - so Aftermath should now run on all devices with iOS 3.1.3 and above. This update also includes some improvements to the audio system and extra effects which further improves Aftermath's atmosphere. Play it with headphones on! Cheers, Peter
