i love this game its definetly the best dual shooter hands down. the two things i would like to see in a update are more missions and allies if possible either computer controlled or people online. that would be sick.

    Aftermath v1.1 Beta

    Hi zombie fans,

I'm looking for enthusiastic volunteers to beta test Aftermath v1.1 and beyond.

I'm hoping to get v1.1 released in the next two weeks with a raft of improvements too numerous to mention to graphics, performance and playability. This is your chance to influence the new control scheme and have significant influence on the next update's new levels and game modes.

If you're interested please send an email to [email protected] with your:

    Name,
    TA username,
Device type (iPod 2G, iPhone4 etc),
    Device UDID

    Cheers!

    Peter

I'm so glad to hear this. I just redownloaded this game for my iPhone 4 and was wondering when an update would come out.

I really like the control scheme as is so hopefully you keep it as an option.

Email already sent, how about some iPad support via a universal build?

I'm assuming that all games now supporting retina display (which most devs did without expecting the players to PAY for these rescaled graphics) will play nearly native on the iPads once the iPad makes the jump to OS 4 (at most just forcing the player to play in a slight letterbox)?

Thanks! The control scheme changes are more evolution than revolution - I've split or repositioned most of the controls and added a 'sprint' feature. Every control should now be ideally positioned for your thumbs, and the sprint ability gives you that additional option to dodge or close the range. Hopefully when you get your hands on it you'll agree that it's a winning combo!

I'm still volunteering in Malawi atm so haven't got access to an iPad to test on, but I can't wait to get my hands on it when I get back to the UK in a month or so.

I don't think retina display support necessarily means iPad support for free - if you're going to do a good job of it you need more than high res assets, you really need to redesign the interface to suit the iPad better. For example you would probably need to keep Aftermath's thumbsticks the same (pixel) size but move them towards the middle of the screen.

I'm looking forward to trying it out!

True, a REAL iPad upgrade should optimize controls as well but now, thanks to the iPhone, the higher rez stuff should be just a freebie.

It is a little annoying, still, that so many games, say like Orbital HD, which is NOTHING but rescaled vector graphics, charged us iPaders (or at least tried) to resell us the same game for this native support I'm SURE iPhone 4 folk will get for free if they already own the original version.

How long are signups going to last? I want to participate, but I just want to check to make sure that I can before signing up.

I really enjoyed Aftermath back in the day. Haven't played much of it for a while, but I remember liking it a lot more than other zombie shooters.

Awesome! I've been really hoping development would continue for this game - it was such an incredible start. I still have it on my phone and have played through it a couple times (as well as played the survival mode many times). It's definitely one of the best zombie/DS shooters out there. I'd love to help with the beta, but I'm not sure I'll have time. I may send in my info just in case.

How's the update coming along ?

    Has it been submitted ?

Really looking forward too it. :)

I bought Aftermath on day 1, since then I've played through every level atleast ten times (I can't even begin to count how many hours I've clocked in on the Survival Mode), and I've really enjoyed it.
If I may make one suggestion though.. Please change the icon for the game.

I have 82 games on my 3GS, and while Aftermath is without a doubt one of my all-time favorites, the icon is my least favorite.

    Hi!

Just wanted to let you guys know that Aftermath 1.1 has been submitted! I'm really happy with how it's turned out and looking back at v1.0 I think it's come along leaps and bounds. I'll post a complete feature list when it goes On Sale, but the main areas of improvement are:

+ Revamped graphics engine capable of coloured lighting and detailed character shadows
+ New animation and obstacle avoidance system for main character - smoother movement and more detailed model.
+ Revamped control layout including Sprint ability, pause-while-select-weapon, unpause countdown.

    + And... new Icon! :)

Hope you all enjoy it - please let me know your impressions!

    Cheers,

    Peter

So, let me get this straight.
One of my favorite iPhone games of all time is getting better graphics, animations, lighting, details, gameplay and icon ?

Seriously, best 0.99 ever spent! :D
