Hi guys, Thanks for picking up on this update so quickly - I released it in the middle of the night and it still doesn't seem to have propagated through to the UK store properly. Can you see screenshots in the iTunes page? I can't! Please let me know your impressions - it's been over a year since the last update, I want to know what I'm getting wrong/right... As for iPad - one way or another there will be some tablet love before Christmas Peter
50% off Hi all, To celebrate finally getting version 1.5.0 out, I've put Aftermath on sale - 50% off for a week. Hope you all enjoy the update, especially the new levels which I had a lot of fun making Peter
Does this game have a campaign? Or is it just waves of hordes? What makes this game any different from anyother dual stick zombie shooter out there?
Awww yeah. Re-downloading this one now, can't wait to make some more undead even deader. Thx for the update.
It has a campaign, though I wouldn't call it a "story" per se. Each chapter has a number of tasks you need to accomplish as you make your way through a city overrun with zombies. There's also an exploration component, as you can find better weapons if you get off the main path. Besides more depth to the gameplay, the main thing tha distinguishes Aftermath from other DSS is immersion. The use of dynamic shadows and a flashlight aiming mechanic makes the game genuinely scary; it also helps that that you're making your way through something that feels like a real city (it reminds me of GTA:CW). The game was well reviewed when it came out over a year and a half ago and I think many of us thought it had been abandoned by the developer. This update is very welcomed by those who've already played through it. It's also a great opportunity for folks who've never heard of it to check out a game that's still pretty special.
This game is incredibly frustrating. Now, don't get the wrong idea. I LOVE it. It's frustrating because it could be so much more. So much more. They nailed the controls, gameplay, graphics, atmosphere... It is easily one of of the most atmospheric games on the Appstore, and it's a twin stick shooter! The lightning is just amazing. The core experience is fantastic. So, here you have this fantastic core experience that simply denies you more robust content. This game deserves to be fully fleshed. It begs for a story and a mission design that isn't restricted to reaching waypoints. I'll be really sad if that's the last we're hearing from this game. Still, I'll keep an eye on Twoheads games next project.
BAM! Out of nowhere! + Aftermath is now Universal and supports iPad. + New, less disorientating camera system + New higher resolution menu graphics. + Transfer scores from OpenFeint to Game Center Kudos to Twoheads Games
This is a welcome surprise! Aftermath was one of my first and one my favorite zombie-themed games ever
