I almost can't believe this day is actually here!

App info is currently processing and/or the app is not yet fully available for sale on the US App Store.

    That's the problem
    Big Apple
lol'at the screenshot, but it's really a long journey for your release.

So many films for 99 cents, don't know how it works.

Other than for the app itself, do we pay for these movies when we download them? Will we own the movies or are these "checked out" for a limited time ala Netflix?

Good questions. All movies currently included are free. You can download and redownload as many of the movies as you like. You can either stream them or save them to your device (to treasure forever.)

Yes. Apple's legal department had the same concerns and that is why they spent months dissected the licensing documents.

So it is 6.8 MB for the app but i am guessing that would be for streaming. What is the average size of a movie to download and keep?

Most are in the 450 MB ballpark.

Oh, and if I didn't make it clear, it is possible to delete movies to reclaim space on your device.

Does this have the 1925 movie "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" or the 1939 movie "The Wizard of Oz"? I'm guessing it's not the 1939 version as they still make a ton of money repackaging that every few years and wouldn't be giving it away for free. Using the same logic I'm assuming Gulliver's Travels is the Jack Black version.

It's worth the 99 cents for Plan 9 alone! Will more movies be added in the future?

Correct, this is not the Judy Garland version of the Wizard of Oz. And I didn't even know Jack Black's Gulliver's Travels had been released yet. I live under a rock, apparently. Anyway, yes I do have plans to incrementally add films in future updates. Will more lengthy review shenanigans throw a wrench into my release schedule? Only time will tell. Maybe I should submit the Halloween update now.

I'm trying and failing to wrap my head around how this is profitable for the dev after considering development costs, hosting costs, licensing fees and publishing fees. Good luck to the dev, nonetheless.

Edit: I guess the movies being public domain helps, wonder if the movies are actually being hosted by the dev or are being sourced from a public archive.

Hey, starjimstar...as I wrote above, I have downloaded your app and have seen the first 10-15 min of Metropolis and The cabinet of Dr.Caligari...all ok this is not a fake app (lol sorry for my suspects!).
Now, what I would love to see in a future update is Cabiria, Un chien andalou and Intolerance. Is it possible to add them to the list?
Thanks and grats for the great app :D
