I agree, having a facebook page or group is a good idea. But actually advertising is probably a waste of money. In my experience no on ever clicks on FB ads, and if they do the click doesn't convert. Good luck!
Hello, I see several people mentioning the $50 of free facebook ads coupon/code. Is there currently a facebook ads coupon/code available?
I got one through Go Daddy, my web hosting site when I signed up; I'm not sure about any other offers, but I'll check around.
I spent 200$ at the last 2 days for some promotions on Facebook around my new game. I got 100 new "followers" (likes) during these 2 days. So 2$ per new follower.
It's interesting to see figures like this. I think someone else mentioned what the cost per follower/like was above also. I'm running a facebook ad as well but throwing barely any money at it. I guess I had a question on how people were estimating their cost per follower/like...is that the "Avg. CPC" as listed on the Facebook campaign page? Or are you calculating it by some other method?
In my case CPC was about 0.49$. I got about 102 click, which translated to about 60-70 new followers. But in the end I didn't calculate anything. I setup a lifetime budget of 50$, and I made a 2 week campaign. I had done a similar campaign with less effect before (about 10 new followers I think). The main difference was that my second campaign was very targeted (I specified iPhone/iPod/Apple/Mac and a whole bunch of keywords) and was much more successful.
It's great to see this! I am hours away from releasing the first batch of information about my new game. Did you start this advertising with the game already released, or is it still being developed!?
@gammabeam i started one day before the official release of the game @TinyTechnician it's very simple: i spent 200$ and got 100 new "followers" on facebook. So 200$/100 followers = 2$ per follower
Thanks blacksmith! I just released the facebook page and website of my game. Right now it's just showing the main story and some nice art assets of the characters, so I guess I'll wait more before advertising on Facebook.
I've heard somewhere that you specifically tailor your FB ads to people working at Apple. Apparently, it gets you in the featured section easier. Don't know if it really works, but it sounds like it would. I imagine it would cost more though, and there might be people pretending to be Apple employees on FB.
How would you tailor your FB ad to people working at Apple? I'm assuming if you add tags or anything related to Apple or Apple products you'd just tailor your ads to people who use/like Apple products...which is probably what you want to do anyways ;-) If you have any information on how people are specifically tailoring ads to Apple employees let us all know...that's something I've personally never heard about.
I have heard people mention this as well, though I am not sure I know enough about actual ad creation/etc to understand how to properly target them. I've friended a few Apple folks on Facebook, but not really hit them up directly. I will probably be a little more serious about that when I put the squeeze on for my upcoming promotion. __________________ twitter - HeadcaseGames.com Enjoy Tetris & Bejeweled?
