I have the same bug like you, where I can't open or load GC, but I haven't encountered any problems with this game. It runs perfectly on my 5S with the latest iOS.
I really love the soundtrack, so much nostalgia. The game seems quite faithful to the original. Im happy they kept those monsters, which can only be killed with certain weapons. Theres the option Game Pad Type, so I guess this means MFi support. Ive recorded some gameplay impressions (up to the marsh cave) for those who are interested.
MFi controllers seem to work fine for those wondering! I think TA should make it a priority to list controllers support for games, also to rate games on how well the controller support is, this is not 2014 anymore
well I find a way to reboot the GC function, here it is: 1.close all running app, even background one 2. turn on airplane mode 3. power off device 4. power on device 5. go setting > GC 6. logout your account 7. then back to homepage 8. turn off airplane mode and enable wifi 9. go setting > GC and log in your account 10. done I tried this method and it works, try it if you have GC bug
To the person who mentioned playing the same areas. I recall anothe game tht was this way and it's called legend of Zelda and secret of mana and both are two of the bet games ever made. Just saying. This is an old school game and even though they updated the look it still has the old school feel to me it's very welcome.
The game autosaves all the time, so even if you quit/close the App, it will start where you left. But manual saves is actual manual saves. So use manual saves often and when you are "secure".
That worked for me, for a while. Two weeks ago, I had GC crash, and nothing would get it to come back. I had to backup to my computer, reset my iPad to factory settings, then restore from my backup. It didn't take as long as I thought it would, everything saved and picked up from where I had left off, and now my GC works fine.
Great game so far. I played the game boy version to death. Really exited to see everything in place. Happy about the use of the old sound effects plus the few ones from secret of mana (when your gauge fills up) But still easy to get into a dead end. I'm currently at Ketts Mansion and I'm out of keys. In the old days you could just leave the mansion and buy new ones. This time, the door is locked and none of the enemies is dropping new keys. Bummer. Have to start all over now. Edit: never mind. The skeletons drop keyrings. The leeches drop mattocks
I'm at the beginning...been through Steppe,Topple, Eastern Cave, and Bogards Cabin. Now running in circles as I have no clue where to go/what to do. Other than that, this is worth the $13. Console quality. Help
This game is almost wonderful and I think there's room for improvement in some aspects. IMO graphics are good but not spectacular. Fighting random encounters is fun however there's only one attacking option so far (3 hours of playing); the first boss fight was maybe too easy to win but I guess the next ones will be tougher to beat. I don't like that items by the same kind occupies all the slots and to get extra items I'm forced to use them and I'd like to have an option to see how much life enemies have and how much gold/exp I win with every fight.
I loved the original on Gameboy. But, maybe I should just replay that version! I tried playing the remake for GameBoy Advance but really didn't like the changes they made... So I wonder if I'll feel the same about this new version.
I just grabbed the sickle but now not sure how to proceed in the cave Tried breaking some walls but nothing and my only option is going back up to cave I just went through. Loving this game.
I bought keys at the shop in Topple thinking that's what was needed to open the back door at Bloggards Cabin, but doesn't seem to work. I have fuji (I think) following me now and have zero clue what to do next.
Find the manor after you enter the marsh go down a couple paths then left and cross a bridge you will see the manor enter and go in west room to rest, she will then be gone when you wake up from sleeping but first she will give you the cure spell.
