First let me say I've been having a great time with this game. I've finished it once with the Cultist and once with the Ranger and I've started again with the Mercenary. I agree that the higher level skills need a little balancing. Late in the game some battles go for many rounds and SP runs out too quickly when using them so I usually just use the lower level skills. Maybe if potions didn't use stamina I may rethink this though. Just a thought. I also agree that it would be nice if you could add the % chance to the description of skills that have a stun, poison, or confuse chance. I hope this game gets more exposure and recognition. You should be proud of it. I haven't touched my DS since I started playing it or any other iOS game for that matter.
Nice I'd be interested to hear how you think they match up so far I've heard the mercenary is the most powerful but I think mutant gives it a run for the money when played right. Yea all the feedback on skills has been great after this latest update endgame will be a bit more tweaked to reward later level skills a bit more. The addition of the skill % should have been there from the start not sure what I was thinking haha. Thanks I'm glad you are loving it because I will continue to update / improve it as time goes on. I enjoy playing it too even after 20 some play throughs haha.
So far I like the Cultist over the Ranger. I like all the status effects I can throw on the enemies. Although after learning the game, I had much less deaths on my second time through with the Ranger. The Merc is really powerful and I'm liking all the heavy armor I can wear. I've found I don't have to use nearly as many potions because of his defense. I'm going slow this time and looking for all the pets too. I think I've missed a few.
Thanks for the input hopefully those changes in the upcoming update help. Keep in mind I will be working on this game for a while so you may see even more changes. thanks for the detailed feedback I will respond above.
Thanks it means a lot that the guys at toucharcade took the time to review my game and even more that Shaun liked it so much. Toucharcade is by far the best mobile gaming site around and it's because of the community as a whole (players, writers, staff and devs).
I added a small black corner (kind of like a turn the page deal) to indicate you the square takes you to the next room. I tried to keep it from being too distracting but if you know what you are looking for its easy to see. I will add to the battle hints / help notes what it indicates as well. Here is a little preview of what it looks like again youll have to look close but on your device if you know what you are looking for its easy to see. I am open to input so let me know what you think. I will be posting all the update notes tomorrow. I made about 20 additions/changes/bug fixes so theres a lot there.
So what's the deal with killing the living lava? I have had some die and never come back, others it takes five rounds. When there are two or three of them it's crazy. One time it didn't respawn after a poison attack. Maybe there was a critical attack in some others? I better read the battle descriptions more carefully. I'm happy to hear about the update coming soon. I'm close to what I think is he end boss, and I agree that the deaths in the lava shouldn't count because...the only way to know where to go is die trying. One other thing is that in the cemetery room with the four portals, the encounter rate is insane. It seems to clear out once you have solved one of the rooms but it was like a battle every step and my first time in I was searching the floor for ransoms...helped with grinding I suppose though. How high a level can you get with crafting? I am planning to do the strongest class last as an alchemist. No stamina use for potions is a great perk
Just beat the game and got ranked 14 It would be nice to have a button to go back to the title screen so I can switch between characters. Right now inhale to close he app and restart. Or am I missing something?
You can use the green portal to go back to the first room you start in and then use the blue portal to quit. But it would be nice to just have a button to push or maybe put a blue portal in that last room to quit.
So the living lava has a 50% chance to deathspawn another living lava. This is a case in the game where it's not a good idea to have high reflect damage because if it dies during its turn the one that deathspawns gets a turn that round. They are probably the hardest regular monsters in the game. You need to control when you are going to kill them and be prepared for them to respawn. As for the crypt area I will totally remove respawning in there I understand it can get a little tedious. I'll also look at reducing the npcs as well since the player doesn't know which way to go from the start (which I like). Crafting goes to level 26 where you get some pretty insane items. You'll need them to beat the final enemies inside the infinity arena. Yea Mutant or Mercenary are the strongest right now... Until I introduce the Time Guardian that is
It would also be good to have the special chest in each zone so you don't have to go all the way back to the beginning. Kind of a pain. Thanks for you ever open ears.
Bought this game yesterday and already have 2 characters rolled up! Great fun. As echoed by a previous poster, would LOVE to see a cloud backup feature to play all of my saved characters/games on all of my devices. Thanks!
I gotta say Touchmint, your dedication to talking to fans is pretty amazing. I see you all the time in other places where people are talking about the game or showing it. That's just rad. Also, going the extra mile to add support for the visually impaired is impressive. It's something that takes extra effort and communication with third parties yet targets only a sliver of the market. It's something you can really only call charitable. Trips to the Game Developers Conference (GDC) are expensive and as such usually only reserved for a few engineers within AAA studios, but if you ever got the opportunity to present there, this would be something interesting to talk about.
Honestly I love games. I went through hard times growing up and I own my life to them. I want to give back as much as possible. For me it's not profitable yet as I rely on my other apps to servive but as long as I have the money to create another I will make more games. I love that the visually impaired can enjoy my games and it pushes me to make them better.
I think you should do something with the Living Lavas. As it is, fighting three of them is harder than the final boss. Maybe if you cut the regeneration rate to 25% or even 33% or eliminate their critical hits. I'm using the Mercenary at level 23 and I've died 5 times trying to get past them. It comes down to luck instead of skill.
I agree with you. It would be great if their respawn rate could be lowered by status effects, or if you get a critical hit they don't respawn, etc. Something! ice damage makes sense as another way to go. I don't think it needs much of an adjustment, but maybe 40% and a way to lower it to 10%, or keep it as is but be able to lower it to 25...because when here are three of them it is pretty crazy.
I'm on a priest playthrough right now, and the character seems really balanced. Restore was really only useful for the obsidian golem fight. He has 2 stamina he hits extremely high. I remember him critting me for 200+ and stunning me. At the time my minor heal was only healing around 140, so restore saved my life. Next time I will use it against him with a bizarre fiend hehe. I want to report a bug: In the infinity arena I summoned 3 Dechanted and I killed two but then the third wouldn't take a turn, so I'm just stuck in battle with no way to end it. Now, question time! Does the HP vamp stat only work on skills that leech HP? Is there any way to raise the damage Abolish does? If you have 0 HP vamp, would a pet's Life Leeching passive still give you some flat amount of the stat? Lastly, either HP vamp (on character stats) or Leech (on gear) need to be changed to one or the other because it's confusing seeing different names that do the same thing
Take a wisdom buff potion or wisdom gear. You will see a lot more resists that way. Or do what I did and stack reflect damage equips and watch them 2-shot themselves hehe. I like enemy the way it is tbh. Some classes will just be weak in certain fights. For example I'm sure you had no problem with physical burst DPS fights like yeti captains and obsidian golems. They have done 200+ damage in one turn to my poor 500 hit point priestess and I died several times on those fights.
