Here is some feedback from a friend who just played it. Rogue games are great and very simple yet a very challenging genre. 100 rogues, but dungeon and Cavern are all different in their own way but classified as rogue. Now a new game Adventure To Fate is another gem that brings it's own flair to a great genre. An 8-bit turned based lite rogue would be a great way to describe this game and also a great game to start with if it's your first time with this genre. Floors are short but each layer gets tougher and longer. Battles are final fantasy like (which is a first for me on a rogue) but work great and makes it original. The shop has health items and weapons/defensive items that are very useful in later floors. You can get info and sell your items as usual but makes it feel interesting. Touchmint did a great great job with the game and is a game that should stay on your device and be talked about as a classic.
Hey thanks for the review and yea this is my first game for any OS. I've already learned a ton from this release and have actually already started my next project so I am pretty excited about it.
No idea why the update is not through yet. I submitted about 6 days ago so it's kind of weird it's taking this long sorry guys. :/
The update hit sometime this morning. Here are the update notes: ***New Features*** -Added more types of monsters, item drops and rooms to the first 3-4 floors. (For better initial experience) -Added swap item ability. (You can now swap items instead of having to unequip and equip) -Added options to turn music and sfx on/off on starting screen and character menu. (You can now play your own music) -Added easier to read item info. (Items now only show the bonus stats with values > 0) -Changed how prompts are displayed for battle, not enough resources and death. (Each is set on a 1 second timer instead of having to tap ok to continue). -Added randomization to character creation. (human knight is no longer default selection) -Added more movement to character attacks. -Sped up npc attack speed 10%. -Added direct support email to about page. -Added direct game rating link inside about page. ***Bug Fixes*** -Fixed various spelling/grammar mistakes. -Fixed the mislinked rooms on floors 13 & 21. (were trapping players) -Fixed players getting stuck in walls after death or portaling then quitting game. Fixed saving location after death Fixed saving location after warps Added ability to warp if you are stuck. -Fixed unequip all skills bug. (when you removed them all you could not equip any) Thanks again for all the support guys!
Hey guys thanks for all the support on the game it's really great to see the game sticking in the top 20 role playing games . I feel like that means it's a pretty good game and not just a flash in the pan so thanks again for making it possible.
I hope it isn't just a flash in the pan. While I am not all into old school rpgs, some of my friends are saying this game is great, and I too am having fun killing all the giant rats and other creatures. Giod luck with sales, hopefully, you're game will get some more light for this genre for sure.
Running through the game as a wizard. It's really fun so far maybe even more fun than the Druid but I'm only level 16 ATM. I had a question though do wizards get another pure damage spell after flame? Also I think a found the hidden floor. I won't give too much away but it was in a wall. Has anyone else found any hidden floors? How many are there?
Some items I have got with my wizard on my 2nd play through. Working on m 3rd play though with a Druid. This has been the best game I have played on my phone in a long time.
So playing this game and Small Chronicles now. Both pretty fun though I rarely play old school rpg games. Nice and relaxing though.
Looks like people are starting to find the hidden floors and items (wasn't sure if anyone would ever find them haha). Anyone else found any?
Yea Small Chronicles is pretty cool too I havnt put as much time as I should into it. Seems like theres been an endless stream of good games coming out lately haha.
Always an endless stream of games on ios, that is why I like ios gaming. And it is fun playing Adventures of Fate, reminds me of some good old school games. How did you come up with the game concepts to this game?
Adventure To Fate is really just a combination of all of my favorite games along with limitations I had from making a game with straight objective-c. When I say limitations I mean self imposed limitations. I am not the best coder so I pretty much had to work with what I could figure out haha. Anyways some of these limitations actually worked out best for the game. I am really happy with how it turned out and I actually just started working on an online version of the game this week and I am really really excited for that.
I thought I heard it mentioned on here or another forum that you might add some kind of new level at the end of the game after its beat. Do you still have plans to add something like that?
