Is there any advantage to accumulating stars in intermediary classes, or can you promote as soon as you can when building a higher tier character? I understand you might want some intermediary classes higher ranked so you have the flexibility of demoting for a mission, but for example, is a Black Knight with all intermediary classes 5 starred stronger than one where all intermediary classes have the minimum stars to reach Black Knight?
Many of the bosses push you to play evasion/kite duty while the rest of the team does the killing for you. Some boss strategies I found useful: Demon Tree: use a thief/speedy healer/bowman and simply run around dodging the tree roots (they only go after your controlled character); a bowman or swift attacker (brawler, red knight, etc.) might be able to drop in an attack now and then, but usually the rest of your team will have to take him out Golem: control a trapper who has poison mine (?) to kite him around the ring, drop poison mine at intervals, have everyone else just pile on him; you can switch direction if you and he outpace your crew -- he'll mostly ignore them and chase after you (Necronon's staff can make this an easy win) Bigfoot: control a thief or similarly fast character, keep your distance and kite him around the level being careful to dodge his rocks and his leap attack; you may need to jump back into a healer if the random rocks hurt the rest of your posse too much, but mostly kite him around and he ignores the crew Necronon: can't remember this one, but make sure your melee characters have high EDF and health (a Titan or Defender can get up close and tank some hits), control a bowman/wizard/crossbowman with high ATK and stand far out to dodge his attacks
Anyone finding any neat character/equipment combos they'd like to share? I bought a Godly Dagger with +8 DEF that turns my thief/pickpocket into a one-man artifact sweeper. Now that she's an Assassin, she has super-high speed/attack/defense. Easily my most OP character now. I also bought a Godly Staff with +8 ATK and put it on my healer. When she's not healing, she's one-shotting archers from afar. pew pew pew I think a high EDF tool for a Titan would be a great tank set-up, but I'm saving gems for class upgrades now. This game is fantastic. I hope there are either more islands or a New Game + set-up in the works.
Some of the intermediary classes I prefer sometimes to their higher counterparts... I wouldnt say a sniper is always better than a marksman, for ex... I personally wish class and company management was handled differently.... it is a UI thing which I understand, but Id like to be able to pull up a large sheet on left side and be able to organize, change classes easier on right, etc. Its like having a massive, unwiedly equipment list in an RPG without filters. My ONLY complaint about AC. I echo the New Game+ request, too.
Would be nice if after completing a level that makes a particular class available that the game does a scan of your currently evolved characters and let's you know what toons can now use that class
Fun game! Well done as always FM! Enjoying playing at a semi- casual pace. Like the fact that there's not a huge need to push forward and I can get great rewards for the 4 & 12hr dailies. Any advice from those further along on great classes to work towards? Not sure which to get and maybe which to skip for a bit.
Just beat the game and now working on getting full stars on all missions. This game is awesome! I personally recommend these classes as they have helped me out A LOT, in no particular order: Fighter > Swordman> Knight> Black Knight > Death Knight A skill that when you kill enemies you turn them into skeletons that fight for you, you can create an army pretty quick. The only problem is that it doesn't work on enemies that are already undead. Also has a permanent poison aura and a skill that makes your normal attack ignore enemy defenses. Fighter > Spearman > Phalanx > Javelineer Mid-range fighter with spears that pierce thru enemies. You can turn on exploding spears and/or buff attack speed by 50%. Also a passive buff that makes all other spear wielders throw their spears with normal attacks. Farmer > Apprentice > Healer > Priest > Saint You can resurrect dead allies and rain down fire from the heavens, enough said. Farmer > Apprentice > Wizard > Archmage > Wise One 6 magic attack, firing off in 8 directions with a permanent 35% attack speed increase. Can also teleport if things get dicey. I don't have him maxed out yet so I don't know his final skill but he already melts massive enemy armies. Farmer > Lumberjack > Brawler > Sensei > Fu Master (mine is equipped with bombs) Due to the bombs mine has 8 attack and now has mid-range AOE. I use the 50% attack speed buff and as long as I dont miss normal attacks I get up to +3 damage. Can jump to any location if things get dicey. Archer > Pickpocket > Thief > Assassin This line is a MUST HAVE for those 'collect X in X:XX' missions as well as the bonus missions. While invisible no enemies will target you and no bombs can kill you. Extreme speed and when finally an Assassin your damage is crazy. Archer > Crossbowman > Sharpshooter Another must have, one man machine when using Long Range (shoot further and 50% attack speed buff). Also has a skill that attacks the whole map with arrows.
Wise one's last skill reduces everybody's mana costs. Very nice. Saint is particularly nice on the 4 hour bonus mission. Play her conservatively and when everyone else is dead, resurrect them all for another burst of collecting. Easier said than done, but it's nice when it works out. Haven't tried this combo yet (probably overkill), but one Javelineer with 4 phalanx... The phalanx will each have 10 attack and 10 def with a ranged attack - before considering gear. Stick some cheap +edef or +spd on them, and they're a pretty scary team.
Dudes... You're awesome! Thanks for some class breakdowns... That's exactly what I was looking for! Now I know what direction to start steering my mid-level dudes.
My experience So I beat the game in a period of 74 hours (including the rest of my life, like sleep and meals and social living). I mean, I'm gonna keep playing because I skipped stars and classes, and because the combat is fun. My comments on it: Anyone else got a gun? I noticed that I got one, only one, and that's the only one I've ever heard of. I've cycled about 50 times with videos. Is it possible to get a gun that isn't "godly"? Class things: Sniper: Seems a bit weaker than Marksman. Why? I think 360 no scope should be replaced by long shot; it's a much better ability in nearly every way. Fencer: The class would be great to play, but more than one thing is out of place for the class. Quick strike is nearly impossible to land while you are taking advantage of your dashing passive and actively avoiding enemy attacks, or unless you spawn camp. It should have good reach rather than a wide angle. Speedy Attacks is out of place imo. It's a powerful ability, but attack spees implies constant attacking, and being a fencer, as the weak spot and the quick dashing passives suggest, is about hitting hard and dodging, not attacking in a flurry. It would be better to replace this with an ability like counter attack from H&C 1 assassin or dodging for the next 6 seconds. Also, as others (who posted a LONG, LONG time ago) have said, the ads will occasionally crash the game, and once they start, you gotta go through massive cycles of opening and crashing until you give up or get lucky, often only to have it crash again the next time you try. I probably spent an hour of the ~30 I played doing this. However, despite my few issues, I enjoyed it, and I hope new content comes out to close this cliff hanger ending. Actually, the game said something about scouring the land for the radiation artifact, so has anyone found that in normal gameplay?
Does anyone play on an iPhone 6s Plus and notice lots of heat and poor battery life? Just curious as I experience both when playing this game.
Help with Undead grove So I'm trying to reach Tree town so I can unlock the brawler class, but I can't collect the 30 apples in 45 seconds, is there something special I'm supposed to do?
* Farmers apples count towards the 30 Apple total. * You can use the Apprentice's ability to get back 8 mana. * You can tap on their portrait to switch to them. * SPEED is the key here - making sure all toons you are taking in have high Speed. So do this repeatedly 1) Tap on Farmer 2) Use Planter 3) Tap on Apprentice 4) Use Mana Charge to get 8 mana back 5) Tap on Farmer 6) Wait for 2 mana to recharge Plant Tree 7) Use Planter 8) IF (Mana on Farmers <10 or Mana Charge/Planter on CD) Then Tap to Fastest party member run around collecting apples.
Guys, I don't get how to deal with Skelly Necromancers. A little help? Their description states: - raises other skellies (to distract the rest of my crew) - shields nearby enemies (so the distraction lasts longer) - has good DEF (longer to take down) - has good EDEF (even longer to take down) - deals EDMG (so trouble for some classes) Have these guys no weaknesses at all? A group of these guys shielding each other seems nigh impossible to take down (save by grinding other missions till my team has enough levels to render tactics meaningless).
Wait until they are pared with Skelly Captain as they buff the def and edef of all other skellys too. I wish I had a good strategy for them too as the second to last level in the game is loaded with them and the captains and was my hardest level to star. I would sometimes use a Fu Master with bombs and lobbed as fast as I could to kill them before they could summon more and sometimes a Wise One with a staff that would ignore def and poison. I got that staff from the Necromancer boss. A Javelineer with their two boosts activated may do the same thing as a Fu Master with bombs. You may want to think about having a Priest as their passive is +1 damage to all skeletons. I don't know if a Death Knight/Master Monk ignore def skills would work.
Yeah it burns down my battery. On another note, I'm having trouble with cactus enemies. None of my guys attack them because they fire from so far so I cannot defend the point from four corners of the map while my teammates just stand there and die from the spikes. Plus needing to capture with two teammates is impossible since they just sit there and let the cacti hit them from four sides
