Maybe you should contact the author of the review, to have them correct that? It seems an unfair comment to me, and I also think this deserves at least 4.5 stars.

I'm vegetarian, and probably in the lowest percentile of this forum in terms of income. I've gotta be a little circumspect about these things. Especially considering I already bought the original.

People here with their Big Mac and Starbucks analogies... You've got a heart attack due if all you do is spend money on burgers and coffee.

(By the way, I definitely do not like football. But I do like the original Active Soccer).

    ETA: Bought it anyway. :)

I'm quite puzzled by the TA review. AS2 is the best soccer game available on iOS. Fifa 15 is something like a coin operated spin-off, no PES.
If I want to play soccer on iOS, I go for AS2. Stop.

OK, after one match I'd say there are a bunch of improved mechanics. I do agree with the review, though, that there should be another button for sprinting. Or make it so you have to double tap A or B. It doesn't seem all that intuitive double tapping the move button, as that means you have to stand still for a second in order to move faster...

    May I suggest something?
if you stand still for a second then you are not performing sprint in a correct way.
The key is to perform sprint in the time when the ball is far from the feet.
The move requires the exact timing in order to dash without losing speed.

Thanks, but say you've got the ball and you're heading in one direction- the move stick is already pulled all the way in that direction. You can't really press the button twice without taking your finger off the directional pad, then steering again. It's a bit of a fiddly manoeuvre. I get that maybe pulling off the sprint might be like a pro reward, but... I never did like the move controls doing anything other than moving. I remember Inferno 2 initially had the move control also shoot missiles, and he ultimately had to change it.

Yeah, I'm not good enough to do that. If I got to pick a way to do it, I'd want to use a distance-from-center on the joystick. So, closer to where you set your finger is a regular run, further out is the sprint. When you run out of sprint, you can either move your finger in to let it recharge, or just leave it out and you won't get a recharge until the next player gets the ball.

Actually, I'm just terrible at the game in general. I'm sorry FC Dallas, you deserve someone better than me. :( :p #DTID

That being said, I'm cool with whatever, and I love the game. I think I would have gone with 4 stars based mostly on some of the glitchy things still going on, but I have every faith that you will keep improving this game until it is a real 5 star experience!

Yes ,you must do a little trick with your inch. I understand it can be difficult to perform it, the next version introduces the fixed virtual controls so it could be enough to double touch a direction

Is it possible to move the Save Replay button next to the Camera? I keep on accidentally clicking it when I'm trying to click the Skip button.

Could you please add the ability to redefine the buttons for external controllers on Android please? Using a PS3 pad means I have to use triangle to pass, and R1 to shoot! It feels a bit odd so it'd be great to be able to set my buttons in the controls menu please. This is on the Android version.

The software I use does not give me much control on Android controller.
For example the 360 degrees movements are not supported.
Anyway I have a PS3 gamepad, so I see what I can do to overcame these limitations.

Don't forget that the star rating on TA is not a 'how good is the game' but more of a 'how much should you download this game'

Those that like the game will obviously be biased towards a higher score. I think that 3.5 (knowing TA's scoring) is about what I thought it would get. I think if they reviewed again after a couple of versions with the fixes and new features coming it would be a higher score.

As for rating against other football games, this rated the same as FIFA - a big franchise from a big Dev so that is good company! My money still goes to AS2 though :)

Congrats again for getting a review hopefully it will increase sales :)

Can you work out a way of enabling us to redefine the controls in the options menu? I seem to have good movement from the thumbstick, it's just the buttons are mapped oddly.

I've also bought this for my iPad Air as I like it so much! Could you suggest any good wireless iOS controllers that are fully compatible with this please? Preferably not iCade..

Great! If you like Sensi, you'll like this one, it's very similar

But how are they different? If I were to buy one, which one? (p.s. I hate team management and don't care about who the players are. I prefer abstract)

Wait. I see now. Sensible Soccer is not on iOS. I was thinking that SSC14 (Retro Soccer) in Sensible Soccer, but it's not. Well then, How does Active Soccer compare to SSC14 ?
