With a game like this the key is keeping it simple. I wouldn't want to see too many stats and attributes for players that tip this over the edge of "arcade" and into the realm of "sim". The editor is completely lost on me though. Can anyone explain exactly how to use it? It is a case of typing in the "fake" name on one side and the name you want it to be in the other? All I see is a "from" and "to" box.
Mine crashed there last night, first time loading after the 8.1.3 update. worked fine after. The vowel editor is what I am assuming you are referring to here. Basically the names aren't licensed for this game (at least I assume thats why), so the vowels have been swapped. Look at post 24, page 3, and there is a picture of how to sort it
There are several divisions for some leagues, but yeah not Scotland. You can play a career mode with rangers, it's just that they'll be in the rest of Europe league. I think you can create a custom league if you want to ghost them into the SPL.
I think we should help Gianluca with those lower league teams, I can definitely do the J2 and J3 (Japan) and update the J1, would be great to have even more teams and leagues
Some bugs/quirks here on initial playthroughs. OK button sometimes totally fails. Usually quitting the app and going back into it with the app switcher is enough to bring it back to life. Portrait view does not work for menus. End-of-match animations sometimes go weird. I had all a team head for the tunnel, but then go half way up the screen, flickering like mad, before they all 'slid' back down as one. From a layout standpoint, the tables seem a bit weird, although maybe it's a British thing. AS2 gives you: P Pts W D L F A The most common layout used here is: P W D L F A GD Pts which makes scanning points simpler. I also found the championship set-up a bit odd, until I realised 'number of teams qualifying' meant from all groups rather than every group. (i.e. two qualifiers means just that, no matter how many groups you have, not two from each group.) In terms of play, it (like AS 1) feels to me like a mish-mash of SWOS and KO, if not yet quite as refined as the former. It's insanely easy to foul off the ball, when the game doesn't auto-update the picked player especially quickly. (I've had the game scroll to what was off-screen, and award the opposition a free kick.) The 'easy' level also, to my mind, doesn't make the game very accessible to newbs, which is a pity. The opposition is always very quick to block passes. Also, I'm finding it hard to score, bar belting the ball past the goalie from short range, or doing the old Microprose Soccer trick and shooting diagonally from the edge of the area towards the post. AS2 feels a bit like AS1 in that it's very, very easy to blaze the ball over the bar (compared to SWOS's slightly more forgiving power meter). Like the original AS, this is a very ambitious title though, and it's certainly a strong foundation for a decent arcade footie title and, let's face it, we need something beyond the mind-numbing 'TV footage' FIFA-style bores. I'm looking forward to seeing how this one progresses.
The game is great. Awesome gameplay. I have never played this much a soccer game since I played Kick Off 2 and Sensible Soccer on the Amiga. Here are some bugs and suggestions for the PC version (Sorry to post it here but I don't know where to do it) I don't know which ones also apply to the iPhone version. Bugs - The game crashes very often while in the middle of a game. It takes you back to the desktop. - I started a new career, and now when I take a look at other leagues' standings, I see this: - "Assisted" Settings (Dribbling, Movements, Passes) are not saved when you restart the game. - Not very often, but sometimes the ball crosses the net when there is a goal. - Online mode didn't work for me. When a user showed up, I click on it, it says something like "Waiting for user" and it immediately disappears. After that it will show up again and so on. Suggestions - Remove pause when a goal is scored and when they celebrate. I think it should be more fluid. - Show full names in the main window when you are in career mode. You really cannot guess what team you are playing and the standings with only three letters for each team. Maybe use a smaller font? - Option to turn on/off the replays. - Shooting is too sensitive. Keeping it pressed just a little bit makes the ball always go over the goal. I ended up only tapping it slightly every time I shoot. - Maybe it should be easier for the ball to hover over the players when you keep the pass button pressed a little bit. Opponents get it too easily. - I don't think I have seen any tackles from the opponent teams. - The crowd songs are kind of a repetitive. Maybe add an option to turn them on/off, add more, or don't do it that often. - Show full skills for each player. Other than that, the game is absolutely great. I wish you the best with it and I really hope that you keep updating it. Thanks!
Hi Moonlit, unfortunately PC version has some bugs that need to be fixed as soon as possible. I am working on it, an update will be available soon.
Hi gianluca, I encountered a couple of times a weird bug (don't know if it was already reported): while playing a cup game (europa league) during career, on the pitch I was assigned control of the OTHER team (not mine)... moreover, this team was using a crazy "scheme" where all the players were grouped in a corner! By calling the bench and resetting the scheme to default I was able to play a normal game... but still, against myself. Then the game continued working normally, until the subsequent europa league game, when the same thing happened again.
Let's recap the situation: - 1.0.6 version is waiting to be approved and it fixes many bugs and it adds MFI controller support - I now must start a new version and I would like to still focus mainly on bugs fixing and implementing only minor new features. I already have an idea on the features to implement. But my question is: what problems would you like to fix? @Samthelion: this is a must do fix, thanks
I think you should implement a solution so we can see how many "Stars" a player have in the "Career" mode. It would be even better if we could see some of the player ratings, so we can search for players with specific abilities (for example a player with speed or a player with good passing).
The arrows mean whether a player is hot (up arrow) or cold (down arrow) I love this part! Players will change from game to game and so it means Especially if you are in career mode you will need to change your squad out time to time and like in real life players can be on or off and the arrows are a way of letting you know whether that player is on. Like I said I find this to be a cool feature.
Yep and I love it! Makes things interesting when one of your top guys is down arrow do you sub him out or say forget it and see if he comes through. I also like the fact in career it means having to use your bench too which is realistic. You don't see Man U playing the same 11 every game all season.
I want to say it means their ratings go up in all categories in other words their shooting skills increase, passing skills etc
Exactly, and at the end of the seasons players (including CPU teams) will update their skills depending on seasonal performance!
