That´s more a stragegic reason than a technical. From a technical standpoint: - We need to keep the HD/DX version feature independent. From a strategic standpoint: - The size of the game would explode (bad for 1st gen users who are not interested in HD) - Each update would require testing of all versions with additional potential error sources. - more workload and risk, less income -> not the ideal business approach
Any chance you can also keep the old skins in the dx version? Something like what Secret of monkey Island does, where one quick motion can switch between original view and new artwork. Sometimes beautiful art is the way to go, sometimes that pixely goodness adds that nice nostalgia factor. Having both in one app would be glorious, if it doesnt add too much work.
I think this would be a difficult task as Across Age is tile-based and would require a lot of memory management tweaking to make that possible. However I agree that this is a nice feature and I loved it in Monkey Island..
i think its abit strange ..maybe for me alone i dont know...but i buy the game 3 times...one for my 3gs ..then i buy it again when i upgrade my phone to iphone 4 ...then buy it again for the ipad..then maybe buy it for 4th time next year when ipad gets updated... mmm..maybe its just me ..im so abnormal..loool..i believe that is the new support and update scheme for idevices..buy the game 3 or 4 times..lool
When does the iPhone 4 version will be released? The ipad version should be already in the app store. Why is the iPhone DX version released later?
The iPhone DX version will arrive sometime next month, we just recently started to test the final candidate. AA DX needed some map tweaks of the new dungeon because of the slightly smaller view.
I believe I read somewhere that the Ipad version got a lot of updates like better combat and such, will those be in this version as well?
