A few images from the actual game for those like me that are waiting Funny thing that in the actual dev deviantart page is more info and he said there is no a actual release date yet http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2013/130/5/6/map_example_by_kiwinuptuo-d64qxmz.gif
Unfortunately, still no set release date. We provided a general timeframe but decided that since we are getting a great amount of interest we should focus on making it as good as possible.
Good call! Other recent platformers have been mostly underwhelming. Hope you guys can deliver the best ios action platformer yet
Since you guys are looking to make the game as good as possible I hope you piggyback off some of the issues that have plagued other potentially great games. I'm sure you know them but if not: -have at least a couple control options with realizable buttons -play test the crap out of it -Make it premium with IAPs -a few difficulty levels -icade support -Create a light version with one or two badass levels -for IAPs have stuff that can been bought by going to a shop. Not constant efforts to ask for money -None of the IAPs should be priced more than the actual game -IAPs should be aesthetic or to enhance or alter the gameplay experience -if there are leaderboards the IAPs should not enhance abilities in anyway -have rpg elements. Even light ones give a sense of progression that is sorely missed when excluded -loot -can see loot visually on character -Roguelike elements -Newgame+ means gamers can have multiple playthroughs on harder levels with tougher enemies by keeping stats -Consistent physics. Even Mario's shells always responded the same way every time I really think this game could be huge. Your studio has an abundance of humor, great art and level design and you listen to gamers. I hope development is not too stressful. If you nail some of these things I have no doubt the financial side will take care of its self
May and June have come and gone, and July is soon to follow. I'm still looking forward to playing this. Anything?
Sorry about the lack of updates regarding Ace of Blades. We have had to deal with a few internal issues regarding this game and we felt that the overall experience was not quite what we wanted. We do have some new screenshots to show on the new direction of the game, though. Check back here in the next few days! Thank you all for your patience.
I'm looking forward to it. It's also good to know you guys aren't just going to rush it. As disappointing as a setback is, it really is good news you guys want to make it as good as possible.
Not sure, I know Fire Fruit Forge (Devs of Spell Sword) are making a Spell Sword 2 on their own. I think they have us an update on AoB's status in the SS2 thread Edit: Yep, AoB was canceled because they couldn't find a way to make it fun enough. Then FFF went indie, and started work on SS2. Everplay still owns AoB so they may have another team working on it still.
Thanks. I remember reading all that now that you brought it up. Seeing as how Everplay is active promoting other games, hopefully they'll update us as to whether or not they will continue with work on this.
Yeah, it's too bad. It looked amazing. Hopefully their still doing something with it. At least we still have Horde of Heroes and Spell Sword 2 to look forward to
