Ya, looks awesome and sounds very promising! Really looking forward to this. I'm assuming there will be multiplayer? Actually I am more eager to play the campaign.
I dunno about you guys, but Above and Beyond Air Combat is actually more appealing to me. You guys should check it out. At least it'll keep you busy until this comes out!
Apparently the "...biggest investment in an Apple project" Namco Networks has made to date, Ace Combat Xi will look to fly straight to the charts once it hits the App Store in the near future. According to the press release, the launch (or takeoff) will soon commence within the next couple of weeks. With countless premium titles already under the App Store umbrella, we're just grateful Namco has decided to play ball. In the game, players can immerse themselves in scenario-based first-person flight sim mode, or crank up the Gs in third-person flight action mode. Both modes feature HD graphics, multiple HUDs, and real satellite topographic imagery from Japan Space Imaging Corporation. Always pushing the boundaries, this Apple exclusive development uses the iPhone and iPod touch gyroscopic sensors and touch screen to control both original and licensed aircraft! http://appgamer.net/news/2009/nov/12/ace-combat-xi-soon-take-flight/
Meh..I'll wait til it's $.99..LOL Great looking game tho..hopefully it isn't ridden with bugs like FAST is.
If it's not multiplayer, my soaring heart will crash and burn. My hopes for deliverance from SGN's tyranny of silence and the bugs will be dashed upon the rocks. Yes, tyranny of silence! Just say No to single-player. I'm gonna go downstroy some pilots in FAST while I wait! Ahh, multiplayer. At least FAST does have that, though the cheating is rampant. Rampant, I say! I shall go Downstroy some falsely high-ranked ppl now. Good day.
Uh no... While yes, multiplayer is very good to have and even important to long term success, single player is no less important. I definitely want both. For one, single player is good for practice, and two, I don't always want to play with/against others (especially since a lot of players are cheap and/or try to take advantage of weaknesses in the system). And single player can often be more interesting for long term play if the challenges and storyline are good (whereas multiplayer is usually the same thing over and over).
Oh... see the post immediately below. Somehow I double-posted. Mb just a tad toooo queeek on the mouse cleeck.

And bugs! Just say No to single-player. Cheating is rampant on FAST. I have no idea if SGN cares since they are as silent as stones (and spell just as well). There are a great many falsely high-ranked players as a result, and I have had great fun resetting my score and Downstroying them! And now I am off to Downstroy some more... Mwahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaa! (Unfortunately, many a pilot good and true has also suffered a Downstroyer moment or two, heh.)
Rah rah rah rah rah! Thou liest, thou shag-eared villain Fare thee well, my lord. (edit - thou 'Speak Like Shakespeare Day' hath arose, should thou be in ponderance )
About what did(st) I lie(est)? Be gentle, for I have no practice with the Shakespearean tongue. My Downstroying will have to await the end of the 49er-Bears game now.
