That's ridiculous. Can Apple really have allowed that to be the first app priced over $9.99?

Luminair goes for 79.99 on the appstore...

You guys are being over critical.

Its not a rip off because it doesn't claim to be anything more than what it is. It's the normal free zynga poker. You are just buying chips so you can start the game with more chips and jump into high stakes games

If that's the case then I'm kind of glad that none of the recent big game releases have come in higher than $10, because I'm sure they could have gotten away with it quite easily and still made decent sales. Hopefully this is a sign then that decent Touch gaming will remain at $10 or less, as opposed to this crap.

Not only is it far from the first app over $9.99, and it's not even the first game over $9.99, but Apple doesn't "allow" or disallow prices, as long as they're under $1,000. You set it to whatever you want and they don't care.

Actually there are alot of apps over $9.99. There isn't a limit. Beejive was at $12.99.

There was or STILL is this security camera app that was $899.99.

The great thing about the app store is that its economics 101. The poker thing is far from crap considering they offer the exact same experience for free, $9.99, and $19.99 the only difference is the number of chips they give you to start out with.

If their are people out there that want to subsidize my free gaming experience by buying 100k in chips for $19.99 so be it.

For every free game there will be another game ridiculously priced.

Apple gets 30% of what ever app is bought. They'll be happy if someone buys a $1000 app.

Obviously "I am Rich" was a special case, because it didn't actually do anything and therefore created a fuss. As iKoda mentioned, there's the security cam app for nearly as much.
