The 'unique DNA' system the description hypes up is just 10 random stats from 1-100, with the option to reroll one of them or boost one of them by 5 (these actions cost karma, and maybe you can get enough to reroll more than one stat on later characters - the game doesn't explain how that works, which is a recurring theme with this title). My first character started with all but one stat very high, and I rerolled that to an 80, so I guess I'm good at this game /s After character creation, the entire core gameplay loop seems to consist of a series of choices, each with two options. Some of them are pretty self-explanatory and make sense (e.g., choosing between military academy and a business school at 18, or saying yes/no to a job offer or marriage proposal), while others are completely nonsensical (the last choice I made before writing this post was 'math equation' or 'jury duty' - lolwut? That isn't a cherry picked example - at least half of the paired options I've seen made no sense). One of the most jarring examples of nonsensical choices is that events/choices about my romantic partner pop up sometimes, despite the fact that I'm single. After each choice, some of your stats may change slightly, and there are three additional stats that start at 0 (happiness, experience, legacy) that also change with choices (usually they increase, but not always). For the choices that make any sense to begin with, the stat changes make some sense more often than not, but sometimes they seem arbitrary or even the exact opposite of what you'd expect (I chose to watch a talk show instead of a documentary and my happiness went down - I assumed I was choosing between a happiness boost and a boost to intelligence and/or culture, but apparently not). Sometimes, there is no choice at all, it just says 'another year has passed' and your Wealth changes slightly depending on your job. The biggest problem I have, though, is that VERY little information is shown to the player. Based on the app description and some of the stat tooltips, it seems that the stat effects for the choices vary based on your current stats. However, the game doesn't tell you anything about those interactions - all you see is some numbers changing slightly after each choice. Some of the random events have a couple sentences of exposition describing what happened - unfortunately, a lot of times, these events don't give you a choice to make, so it's just RNG-driven stat fluctuations, but at least you get some narrative description. However, for the regular choices that make up the bulk of the gameplay, there is literally just a name for each choice (usually one or two words). That's it. No description providing context for the choice, no description of the result of your choice, no periodic summaries of what's going on in your character's life - nothing. I think you get the idea. This is not worth $0.99. It wouldn't be worth your time if it were free. Hard pass. forsakenxe Well-Known Member Oct 23, 2014 709 0 16 #3 forsakenxe, Sep 1, 2016 Thanks for the impressions, was debating to take one for the team but glad I held of for a bit. I was hoping there might be something more to it and they're just bad at showing off the game. But I guess I'll just skip it after all. drmad Well-Known Member Jun 2, 2013 716 2 18 Indonesia #6 drmad, Sep 1, 2016 This is actualybreally good for me My first playthrough i born in countryside attend school got a job as a musician married twice with one kid that goes to college Get abetter job as agricultural inspector And voted for town mayor at the age of 60 Died at the of 78 with a lot of money. This is pretty fun For 0.99$ it's really a bargain RampageDeluxe Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2013 125 0 16 #7 RampageDeluxe, Sep 1, 2016 I should have checked this forum before purchasing, but I was really looking forward to this game and thought "Hey, it's just a dollar. Even if the game's not that good it'll still probably be worth a dollar." I was wrong. I would rather have spent that dollar on some chewing gum and I don't even chew gum. The majority of choices in the game have no description, very little impact on your sim, and feel completely pointless. Unfortunately the game is nothing like the trailer promises. First time in my life I feel rip off for a buck. # Nst72 Active Member Oct 31, 2013 28 0 0 #9 Nst72, Sep 2, 2016 Doesn't seem to gel or matter what choices you make.I thought this was going to be like a modern version of Alter Ego,that was a great game. imdakine1 Well-Known Member Aug 23, 2011 1,228 22 38 #10 imdakine1, Sep 2, 2016 Concept seemed... Promising and maybe interesting but also wasn't sure how much gameplay would be included since it is a life simulator and from the first post it appears it is a rapid pace of little to nothing for overall exprience.
