Super Turtle Climb Hey my names is James - Long time TA reader but had to register a new username due to being at a new studio. Please let us know if you think it looks cool or dumb? Either way we'd love to hear what you think. Anyways, we of course knew we could never release this game. We actually made it just to pass around the office as a joke. There's about 20 of us, and our studio mostly does ads and web design. We have never released a mobile game so, we did this totally just for fun. However, it leaked a little out of the office and everyone liked it. Seemed cool enough that we should just clean it up so we don't get sued and go for it! Its been submitted and should be coming soon. Concept: What if you were just a turtle minding you own business and some guy with a mustache started throwing stuff on you. Gameplay There are so many runners. We thought wouldn't the last part of a "classic" be a fun endless arcade game? Endless stairs and flagpoles! UPDATE: Aug 14 - Just added a trailer!! original idea First version of actual game (3D'd it up a little) Screenshots of our real game once we fixed it up with our own stuff Any feedback, opinions fire away!
This won't have that problem it's not using characters from Mario just the gameplay style which every game copies
Looks great and long as the platforming controls are spot on... Any idea for a release date? Also will it be stage based like mario with bosses?
From what I'm reading in the OP, I don't think this has much to do with Mario in terms of gameplay. Seems like just another side-scrolling endless runner.
The inspiration is there but, I don't think most people would even assume anything. Without the original screen shot, it probably just looks like 2.5d platformer with a turtle. I guess we'll know soon! haha We're also working on v2 with some powerups and more turtles.
Ok so good news! We did get approved. However..... We're having so much fun we don't want to stop! We decided not to release it yet. We want to polish things up a little more before it comes out. We've adding a bunch of stuff including new themes, new turtles and costumes! Here is a look at a few of the items: yep thats right! Wizard Turtle!
New versions is all wrapped up and submitted. Lots of stuff to unlock now! We'll actually release this version when it gets approved! haha We're pretty excited!
